The Eight Beauties of the Qinhuai
Dong Xiaowan
Dong Xiaowan is a native of Jinling, the talent for the Qinhuai courtesans of the top." She was a talented and skillful courtesan with a beautiful face. She especially loved Li Bai, and compared herself to Li Bai. She made a lot of poems and paintings, Wuxi City Museum still has a piece of her fifteen-year-old "colorful butterflies". Her love for Bold Paijiang, who wrote a ten-thousand-word article in her honor, "Memories of Yingmeian," made them the most celebrated love story in the Qinhuai Qinglou, in which a talented man and a beautiful woman were united. The story of Dong Xiaowan and Bold Bějían's union of a talented man and a beautiful woman is similar to some of the stories in Pu Songling's Liaozhai (Liaozhai). Bold Biaojiang was an outstandingly flirtatious and talented man, but he was poor. After he fell in love with Dong Xiaowan, it was still Qian Qianyi who offered Dong Xiaowan a ransom of 3,000 gold to make them a centuries-old friendship.
After the fall of the Southern Ming Dynasty, Bold Biaojian did not surrender to the Qing Dynasty like Qian Qianyi, Wu Meicun and Gong Dingshan, but left Nanjing and fled outward. After the two of them fled to Yancheng, Mr. Bold became seriously ill. Dong Xiaowan waited for him and took good care of him so that he would not die. However, Dong Xiaowan contracted a serious illness due to overwork. After fleeing to Rugao, Jiangsu Province, not many days, a generation of famous prostitutes, so cut off in the midst of chaos, when only 27 years old.
Bian Yujing
"Mourning six armies all onyx, a crown of anger for the red face" is Wu Meicun for Wu Sangui wrote the poem. Wu Meicun was a great poet in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and was on a par with Qian Qianyi at that time. There is a famous scenic spot in Nanjing - Jiming Temple, where Wu Meicun once lived. The love between Wu Meicun and Bian Yujing, a famous prostitute in Qinhuai, is a euphemistic and sentimental story, which influenced almost the whole life of Wu Meicun later. Especially in Wu Meicun's later years, Wu wrote many poems to memorialize this love.
Gu Mei
Gu Mei, who called herself Mrs. Hengbo, "Water is the wave of the eyes," enjoyed great honor and wealth during her lifetime, and was given a grand funeral after her death. She as Mrs. Shangshu had been the Qing Empire's "first-class canon". After her death, the capital princes, nobles, scholars and scholars all went to the memorial. Many places, especially in the south of the Jiangnan region of the literati, have set up a hall of mourning. But in her body is the most rich in romantic legend of a period of experience, or with the author of the "Banqiao Miscellany" Yu Huaibei made a love story.
The period of Ming and Qing dynasties was the most flourishing period of Qinhuai courtesan's fame. The Qinhuai courtesans were a little different from the courtesans in other places. The Qinhuai courtesans, who were both talented and colorful, were a product of the Jiangnan scholarly culture. Many years after Gu Mei's death, Yuan Mei, a great poet of the Qing Dynasty, still praised her. Yuan Mei lived in Nanjing Sui-Yuan, and according to evidence, the Grand View Garden in Dream of the Red Chamber was written in accordance with Sui-Yuan. It was burned down by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom along with Yuan Mei's collection of more than 300,000 books.
Liu Ruyi
It is recalled that Ruyi was first recorded in wild history as having been born in Shengze's Guijia Yuan (归家院), and that she was originally surnamed Yang (杨), with her first name being Ai (爱), and Liu (柳)being the surname of a concubine. The earliest record of her close relationship with the putty guest is the leader of the party of the Restoration Society Zhang Ximing (Fu). This is a very important clue that she was involved in the political circle of the late Ming when she started to enter the society. Another famous story is that Ru Shi dressed up as a Confucian scholar and went to visit Chen Zhuozi in Songjiang, handing over her business card and calling herself "female brother", as she wanted to marry Chen Zilong. This part of the karmic relationship was not accomplished. The "wild history" says that Chen Zilong was "grim and not easy to approach", but it seems that this was not the real reason.
Li Xiangjun
Li Xiangjun was a famous prostitute in Qinhuai at the end of the Ming Dynasty, and she was one of the most romanticized and tragic figures in the destruction of the Southern Ming Dynasty. From Li Xiangjun, one can see a microcosm of the tragedy of the Southern Ming. Li Xiangjun from a young age with people to learn all the arts, music and poetry, silk and bamboo pipa all proficient, she is especially good at the southern song, singing sweet, y admired by the four sides of the travelers. Hou Fangwei was originally from Henan Province, because of his admiration for the culture of Jiangnan, he came to Jinling to seek employment. HOU Fangwei was a man of elegance and talent, and was a famous member of the "Restoration Society". He met Mr. Bao Pi Jiang, Mr. Chen Zhen Hui and Mr. Fang Yi Zhi, known as the Four Gentlemen, on the banks of the Qinhuai River. They gathered in the Qinhuai building all day long, talking about poetry and lyrics, and having fun with prostitutes. Wu Jingzi once described his own debauchery in the Qinhuai opera house life situation, "recent indignation wanton extravagance, a thousand gold a throw to buy drunkenness back. The old actor Xiaoban *** lying up, uninhibited as a fool." From this, we can also imagine that the four gentlemen in the Qinhuai Opera House at the time of the crazy crazy laughter of the posture.
Ma Xianglan
The apricot blossom corner of the house sounded the spring turtles, Shenshui incense residue lazy downstairs. The new look of the pomegranate was cut out, and I was not taught to see the jade double hooks.
This poem was written at the time when a poet surnamed Lu ridiculed Ma Xianglan for making a new skirt to cover her feet. Among the Eight Beauties of the Qinhuai, Ma Xianglan was not only praised for her poetry, opera and painting, but she was also famous among the courtesans of the Qinhuai for her big feet.
Despite her status as a courtesan, Ma Xianglan never entertained the vulgar. She was highly accomplished in calligraphy, painting and theater, and there is an entry for Ma Xianglan in the modern Dictionary. She had an affair with Wang Dengya, a talented man from Jiangnan, and was always in love with him. On Wang Deng Ya's seventieth birthday, she bought a big boat and led the Qinhuai prostitutes to Suzhou to celebrate Wang Deng Ya's birthday. Wherever the boat traveled, it became a spectacle for a while, and people along the coast competed to see the beauty of Qinhuai courtesans. When she was fifty years old, her beauty still remained intact, and she was pursued by a young man who asked her to be his wife. Ma Xianglan replied, "There is an over-hundred-year-old prostitute who still picks up a dustpan and a broom to be the new daughter-in-law of others. Ma Xianglan's words became a beautiful story for a while.
Ma Xianglan was buried under the Bifeng Temple in Bailuzhou Park on the banks of the Qinhuai River. Although she was a courtesan, she held a place in the Qinhuai and Chinese cultures.
Kou Baimen
Kou Baimen was eighteen years old when she came out of the greenhouse, married Zhu Guobi, a prominent minister of the Southern Ming dynasty, and the scene of the wedding was the largest wedding in Nanjing since the Ming Dynasty. According to the rules at that time, prostitutes from good marriage, must be held quietly at night, Zhu Guobi but disregard the rules of etiquette, with heavy color eight-carried sedan chair will be Kou Baimen heavy make-up and heavy carry on the sedan chair, 5,000 hand-held double "happy" lantern soldiers, from Nanjing Wuding Bridge has been standing in front of the Inner Bridge to Zhu House. All the way to blowing, suona vibration, salute to the sky. The wedding of a singer in a green house exceeded that of a woman from a wealthy family. This moved Kou Baimen for the rest of his life. So later, when the defeat of the Southern Ming dynasty, Zhu Guobi was imprisoned in Beijing, Zhu Guobi in order to live, intends to sell all the family's singer maidservants to ransom his life, Kou Baimen, despite the pain of Zhu Guobi's thinly-veiled, in and Zhu Guobi after the decision, but still for the Zhu Guobi raised 20,000 taels of gold for Zhu Guobi ransomed his life.
Since then, Kou Baimen went back to the Qinhuai opera house, day after day drunkenness with the literati to and from the wine and poetry hot, after the unfortunate illness. At that time, there was a man called Han Sheng, he and Kou Baimen had a relationship, but in Kou Baimen's illness, one night, Kou Baimen pleaded with him to sleep beside her one night, Han Sheng did not miss the old love, pushed away Kou Baimen's hand, abandoned her and in the next room with one of her maidservants to flirt. Kou Baimen heard, not over the sadness and indignation, to the point where the disease is getting more acute, not a few days, a generation of chivalrous and voluptuous greenhouse girl is so sadly scattered on the earth back to the immortal.
Chen Yuanyuan
Chen Yuanyuan in the Qinhuai Eight Beauties, reduced to the same as Diaochan, Xishi in the history of the key moments in the major events played a "scourge" role. She not only let WuSanGui anger lead Qing troops into the customs, if the big Han dynasty to the Manchus, and also make WuSanGui after the death of the back of a big traitor, she also let the claim that there are millions of army LiZiCheng suffered a complete defeat. A courtesan, at a time of great change in history, gave the heroes of history a big joke.
Chen Yuanyuan's story precipitated in the Qinhuai River water like the dregs of history, in the history gradually far away when she began to shine some light. The Qing Dynasty Lu Ziyun described her in "Yu Chuxinzhi" as "the sound of the world's voice, the color of the world's color". Because of this, she brought a disaster to the Han Chinese. And this disaster has been extended for hundreds of years. The Qing Dynasty's closure, the entry of the Eight-Power Allied Forces, the burning of the Yuanmingyuan, the signing of the Treaty of Nanjing, and so on, are the continuation of this disaster.
