Examples of "Self-confidence

In order to promote self-esteem, self-confidence, self-improvement and self-reliance of the youth, on the afternoon of April 9, 2008, "Ren Jimei's speech", which was co-sponsored by "Life Help" program of Shandong TV Life Channel and our school, was warmly carried out in our school's electric teaching hall.

Frankly speaking, Ren Jimei's speech did not have any earth-shattering content, nor did it have any ups and downs of the storyline, but it was just some small things in her daily life for decades. On the spot, Ms. Ren Jimei also gave us a demonstration of a few small things in her daily life---embroidery, paper-cutting, and painting. However, it was these small ordinary things that made the people on the stage listen to her, watch and be moved, and even burst into tears. There are many students said: Mr. Ren in his own congenital disability can have so much self-confidence, and self-improvement, the vibration is huge for us, we will certainly take Mr. Ren as an example, do not abandon their own studies, do not give up their future, and must be an upright and useful to society.

Ren Jimei, 61, was born in Haiyang City, a fisherman's home, she was born without arms, her family was afraid of outsiders laughing, and since childhood she has not been allowed to casually go out of the house. But the unfairness of fate did not let Ren Jimei bow down. Since she was a child, she has had the strength to not give up, often taking advantage of the adults are not at home to practice "footwork" - she learned to use her feet to hold things, eat, wash her face and comb her hair, and even try to use her feet to thread a needle. From the beginning, she clumsily kicked over the dishes, and finally she could not only handle them completely, but also did some things more skillfully than normal people do with their hands. 10 years old, Ren Jimei saw other children go to school, and cried and wanted to study, so the family sent her to school. In school, she used her mouth to turn the book, using her toes to clip the pen to write, every test is the first in the class. Later, because of family difficulties, just after the second grade, she dropped out of school, but she quickly pulled herself together, in addition to doing household chores, there is time to read, write, and will be able to read the newspaper and write a letter, and then learned to draw and cut paper, and soon actually learned to use their feet to cut clothes.

On the way to send Ren Jimei home, she said with a smile, "You think I am optimistic and open-minded, because I know how to cherish first. I was born with one pair of arms less than others, and I used to be the butt of jokes in other people's conversations, but I also got more love because of it. I want to learn to be grateful instead of complaining, and learn to give back to others instead of taking." Listening to these ordinary words, one can't help but be moved.

"The sword sharpens from sharpening, and the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from bitter cold." Ren Jimei, with her own persistence, finally led a happy and fulfilling life. Her spirit y infects us, and she has so much to learn from us. Her positive, resilient and persistent approach to life, her belief in herself, and the power of self-improvement will surely create miracles brought us all a great shock. I believe that this optimism and positive attitude that we have learned from her will promote the improvement of our own quality, and will promote the rapid development of our school.
