What is the development history of figure skating

Figure skating originated in England in the 18th century, and then rapidly developed in Germany, the United States, Canada and other European and American countries.

In 1872, the first figure skating competition was held in Austria.

In 1896, the first World Men's Single Figure Skating Championships were held in Petersburg, Russia.

In 1906, the first Women's World Single Figure Skating Championships were held in Davos, Switzerland;

In 1924, it was included as a competition in the first Winter Olympics, with four events: men's and women's singles skating, pairs skating, and dance on ice.

In 1952, the first World Dance on Ice Championships were held in Paris, France. The ice rink for figure skating is 56 to 61 meters long and 26 to 30 meters wide, and the thickness of the ice is not less than 3 to 5 centimeters.
