It is connected to Longsheng County in the east, Congjiang County in Guizhou in the west, Taoxiang County in Hunan and Liping County in Guizhou in the north, and Rong'an County and Rongshui County in the south. Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County has the largest population of Dong people among the seven Dong autonomous counties in China, and has a strong Dong flavor in its territory. There are the world's first drum tower-Sanjiang Drum Tower, the world's longest wind and rain bridge-Sanjiang Wind and Rain Bridge, the world's largest single wooden structure-Dong Bird's Nest, and other buildings with ethnic characteristics.
