There are 9 basic steps of Cha Cha, as follows:
1. Time step: focus on the left foot and open the right foot. You can also put your right foot back, with the sole of the foot touching the ground and the instep straight. Upper body movements: When moving your right foot, contract your left hand and extend your right hand. Vice versa is the same. Hip movement from diagonally forward to sideways.
2. Cuban Break Step: Step up with the left foot diagonally in front, turn the toes outward, the center of gravity is between the two feet, the heel of the right leg behind is off the ground, the knee is close to the left foot, and there is a reflexive movement . Change the weight of your right foot to the right foot. Change the direction, step forward with your right foot diagonally, and do the same movement.
3. Back lock step: center the weight on the right foot and open the left foot. Change the center of gravity with your right foot. Upper body movements: step back the left foot, contract the right hand, and extend the left hand.
4. Fixed-point turn: Cross your left foot across your body and step up to the right, keeping your head. Push your right foot up on the spot and turn the axis 180° to the right. At this time, the center of gravity is between the two feet. Move your right foot to the right, open your left foot, switch to your right foot, and do the same movement.
5. New York Step: Focus on the right foot, open the left foot, causing the sole of the foot to touch the ground, and the instep to straighten. The left foot continues to move to the left, and the right foot opens so that the sole of the foot touches the ground and the instep straightens. Step up with your right foot and do the same action.
6. Just walk: put the weight on your right foot, and touch the sole of your left foot forward. Step up to your right foot, contract your left hand, and extend your right hand. Step up to your left foot, contract your right hand, and extend your left hand.
7. Zigzag step: Center the weight on the right foot, open the left foot, and cross the body with the left foot to turn 90° to the right front. Turn your left foot back and turn your right foot 90° to the right.
8. Change the center of gravity on the spot: There is no movement of the feet, just a shift of the center of gravity between the two feet. Left foot in place, right foot in place. Do the same movement with the other foot.
9. Forward lock step: Change the center of gravity with the left foot on the spot. Step up with your right foot and cross your left foot behind you. Step up with your left foot and cross your right foot behind you.
