There are many fan schools, Shaolin, Wudang, Kongdong have, I do not have much contact, only Chen's Taiji fan. So to ask the difference between them, I'm afraid I can't help you.
I learned the fan before I always look at others to play slow, do not want to learn, so shelved to the time of leaving the martial arts school before enrolling in this course; learned to find those who practiced too rigid, a lot of action from the offensive and defensive contain more than look would have needed to rush into the fast style, but whether the teacher or classmates, are with the big mom like a sitting disk step down, throw a winks, more than an orchid finger, and then slowly go to the next movement, then the next movement. And then only slowly go down a movement, hey. In fact, any martial arts routines, the style of their exercises is in their own, not limited to the routines belong to which school. Take the set of Chen Family Taiji fan I learned, practice a little faster on the very good-looking, not at all the nauseating feeling of the square amahs beating gongs and drums and dancing with fans. So if you want to have a performing fan routine, I think you can use whichever set you know, the style is up to you.
Saying this much I hope it helps you :)
