Jinggangshan belongs to the city of Ji'an, Jiangxi Province.
Jinggangshan City, located in the southwestern part of Jiangxi Province, is situated in the middle part of Luoxiao Mountain Range at the junction of Gan and Xiang provinces. It is adjacent to Taihe County in the east; Yongxin County in the north; Suichuan County in the south; and Chaling County and Yanling County in Hunan Province in the west. Jinggangshan is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province. The city has a total area of 1,453.01 square kilometers. As of the end of 2020 Jinggangshan City is under the jurisdiction of 16 townships and streets and 128 village committees.
By the end of 2021, the city had a resident population of 155,901. Tsiping is characterized by long winter, short summer, early autumn and late spring due to its altitude and the influence of the terrain surrounded by mountains on all sides. People dancing dragon lanterns in Jinggangshan City usually wear towels on their heads, straw shoes on their feet, and tie their waists and legs. With the movement of the dragon's head during the dance, they twist, swing, tilt, bend, run and jump, which has the effect of uplifting the national spirit.
