Yangge originated from farming activities. In the ordinary daily work, the singing, jumping, walking and other movements during the working period were combined, and some folk customs and sacrificial activities in northern Shaanxi were skillfully combined to form the original yangko.
Dance yangko:
Yangko is a representative dance loved by the Han people in northern China, and it is one of the first projects in China to enter the national intangible cultural heritage list. Its predecessor is the singing activity of farmers when transplanting rice seedlings, which originated from agricultural production and labor.
Every spring, dozens of women and children from the farm go to the fields to transplant rice seedlings together. One person plays a big drum, and the drum sounds, and the group songs have been fighting for it, called yangko. The custom of making yangko in northern Shaanxi has a long history. According to legend, northern Shaanxi Yangko existed in the Northern Song Dynasty. It was originally a yangko, which was loved by Haruka in the way of sunshine.
Yangge is a representative form of Han folk dance. Mainly popular in northern China. However, due to different regions, there are northern Shaanxi Yangko, northern Shaanxi Yangko, northeast Yangko, Henan Yangko, Hebei Yangko, Shandong Jiaozhou Yangko, and millet Yangko. On holidays, yangko teams are organized in urban and rural areas, and villagers also dance yangko to each other, which is more lively than singing and dancing.
