When is the Water Festival in Xishuangbanna?

Xishuangbanna Water Splashing Festival, in fact, for the Dai New Year, is the annual traditional festival of the Dai people, is one of the grandest traditional festivals in Xishuangbanna, generally in the Dai calendar in mid-April (that is, about ten days before and after the Lunar Chingming), held for three to four days. The first day of the Dai language called "Mai day", similar to the lunar New Year's Eve; the second day of the Dai language called "annoyed day" (empty day); the third day of the New Year, called "bahnema", meaning the first year, people regard this day as the most beautiful, the most auspicious days. In Dai language, it is called "Lenghe Shanghan", i.e. "June New Year" or "Dai New Year". It is a window for Chinese and foreign tourists to feel the Dai culture, but also for Xishuangbanna to create a stronger tourism brand injected power.
