Mexico's Views on Climate Change in 2022 Before the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27 in 2022, Mexico proposed an enhanced version of the national development goal for 2030 to better protect the ecological environment and species diversity and slow down climate change. The severe drought in Mexico declared a state of emergency. Mexico's National Water Commission decided to take necessary measures to restrict water use, including controlling large-scale water use industry, enforcing water metering standards, and restricting water use by enterprises in key arid areas, so as to ensure domestic public water supply.
