After more than a month, we have another international auto show. On November 20, the annual Guangzhou Auto Show is about to open. As the last international auto show of the year, it will herald the trends of various car companies next year. This year is special. The Beijing Auto Show was late for nearly half a year, disrupting the communication rhythm of car companies. Unlike the Beijing Auto Show, the Guangzhou Auto Show is coming as scheduled, and various car companies have already made full preparations for this auto show.
This Guangzhou Auto Show will use all 13 exhibition halls in Area A and 3 exhibition halls in Area B of the Canton Fair Complex, as well as the outdoor exhibition areas in the north and south squares of Area A. The exhibition scale reaches 220,000 square meters. However, this year after the "black swan" incident, many car companies were hit by thunderstorms and have lost their qualifications to participate in the auto show. Therefore, this auto show has one less passenger car pavilion than last year. However, the Guangzhou Auto Show will not lose its attraction due to the reduction of exhibition halls. Let me take you to take a look.
Geely will make efforts in software
Let’s take a look at Hall 1.1 first. Geely, Kia and Jiangling Motors are still frequent visitors to this exhibition hall. Geely's Xingrui and Dongfeng Yueda, Kia's Kaiku will definitely participate in the exhibition. However, it is worth mentioning that Geely Automobile will make efforts in software this time. The FOTA carried by Xingrui will be upgraded for the first time, and a new plan will be released at the same time. The trend of "software-defined cars" has begun. Who will rise up?
In addition, Dongfeng Fengxing and Dongfeng Fengguang also set up independent booths here. At the previous Beijing Auto Show, Dongfeng Fengxing and Dongfeng Fengguang were integrated into the Dongfeng Group’s booth. Presumably, Feng Xing and Feng Guang are going to do something.
The ultra-luxury exhibition hall exists in name only
Unlike in the past, ultra-luxury brands such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini and major high-end customization manufacturers are concentrated in Hall 1.2, and There are also brands such as WM Motor, Gaohe and Tesla in this exhibition hall. In fact, at previous auto shows, many ultra-luxury brands would occupy an exclusive exhibition hall, but this "tradition" has changed this year. Affected by the epidemic, ultra-luxury brands that have been slow to advance their products have no outstanding new products, and they have also actively withdrawn from the auto show stage and turned to small customized activities for customers. However, some car companies, led by Tesla, will definitely focus on selling cars.
Hall 2.2 is still GAC World
The overall changes in Hall 2 of this year’s Guangzhou Auto Show are not big. Among them, Hall 2.1 is still home to Cadillac, Volvo, Acura and Lynk & Co. The difference is that Xingtu has been replaced by Zero Run. However, Volvo XC40? RECHARGE will be launched, which will become a highlight of the exhibition hall.
Hall 2.2 is still dominated by GAC Group. Brands such as GAC Trumpchi, GAC Toyota, and GAC Honda are all concentrated here, and it will bring a variety of new cars, such as Trumpchi’s first coupe, GAC Toyota's new sedan Lingshang and so on. However, it is somewhat different from last year. This year, GAC New Energy has its own independent booth, and even GAC NIO also has its own small booth, and will also bring new models, let us wait and see.
Toyota and Honda compete against each other
In Hall 3, various brands of SAIC Motor are still stationed in Hall 3.1, among which MG Club, which focuses on trendy style, is in this exhibition hall. One of the highlights of MG is how trendy it can be. Let’s see how it “turns around”. In addition, Dongfeng Peugeot, Dongfeng Citroen, Subaru and FAW Mazda have become SAIC Group's "roommates". Last year's "roommates" Landwind and Southeast Motor have quietly "dropped out".
The biggest change has to be in Hall 3.2. Except for Changan, FAW Toyota and Jietu, all the brands from last year are no longer in this exhibition hall and have gone to other exhibition halls. It is worth noting that right next to FAW Toyota is Dongfeng Honda’s booth. This time Toyota and Honda will be “cutting edge” to each other. Take a look at Dongfeng Honda’s Siming M-NV and FAW Toyota’s Aolan, which one is more popular. And Changan Automobile's UNI-K will become the focus of the exhibition hall.
SAIC R Auto participated in the exhibition for the first time
Judging from the booth map released this time, the booth area of ??the Hongqi brand in Hall 4.1 has decreased compared with last year. Although With the reduced area, I believe Hongqi’s traffic will not be less, after all, E-HS9 is about to be launched. Thanks to Hongqi's "downsizing", there are car manufacturers in this exhibition hall, and two modified brands, Shangzhe and Zhejiang Carlson, have also been added.
In addition, in this exhibition hall, SAIC R Motors is participating in the auto show for the first time. This brand is SAIC's mid-to-high-end new energy brand. Its first mass-produced model MARVEL? R will also start pre-sales at this auto show. From brand launch to product launch, SAIC R Auto moves very quickly. You can look forward to the future performance of SAIC R Auto.
There are no big changes in Hall 4.2. There are still Buick, Chevrolet, Great Wall Motors and Changan Auchan, but Chery Automobile has taken the place of JAC Motors.
BAIC Group gathered in Hall 5.1
Last year Mercedes-Benz, Changan Ford, Dongfeng Peugeot and Xpeng Motors were in Hall 5.1. This messy situation This year has changed. BAIC Group and Beijing Hyundai came to this booth, so Hall 5.1 became BAIC's "venue". However, Li Auto and WEY brands are also in this exhibition hall. They are definitely not here to "play the field", but they will definitely steal the popularity of other brands. In addition, the brand in Hall 5.2 has not changed much, it is still Dongfeng Nissan. Dongfeng Venucia and BYD, plus Changan Mazda and Dongfeng Fengshen.
Jetta is no longer alone
In Hall 6.1 this year, the participating brands are basically the same as last year. Volkswagen Group and Jaguar Land Rover are here. But what is special is that this year the Jetta brand returned to the embrace of the Volkswagen Group. Although they can fight collectively, this is a good thing for the Jetta brand. Of course, in this exhibition hall, the "North and South" Volkswagen ID.4 will be a major highlight, and the second highlight is the Land Rover Defender. This classic model is extremely popular and will surely attract a large number of consumers.
Baoneng and Polestar occupy Hall 7.1
Last year, Hall 7.1 was occupied by new car-making forces, including Byton, WM Motor, NIO and Tesla. This year, there are only two brands in this exhibition hall: Baoneng Motors and Polestar. Baoneng Motors, in particular, has been very active in the second half of this year. It has participated in the 2020 Chengdu Auto Show, Beijing Auto Show, Shenzhen Auto Show and Dongguan Auto Show. It has been maintaining its presence. But can this really bring Qoros back to life? All we can say is " We’ll see.”
NIO ranks among the luxury exhibition halls
The number of passenger car exhibition halls at the Guangzhou Auto Show this year was reduced by one, so Hall 8.1 became the last exhibition hall. Audi, Lexus and Infiniti are still in this exhibition hall. The WEY brand that was here last year went to BAIC's "field" to cause trouble this year. The vacated space was filled by NIO and Porsche. In this way, NIO successfully became a "classmate" with the luxury brand. However, the highlight of this exhibition hall is most likely the Audi Q5L Sportback that Audi will release. This sporty SUV is bound to attract a large number of consumers.
Water Drop Observation: In addition to these passenger car exhibition halls, there are also three exhibition halls prepared for modified cars and commercial vehicles. And after sorting it out, the author found that some car companies no longer fight independently and have come together one after another. Perhaps due to the cold winter in the auto market and the impact of the epidemic, automobile groups have begun to adopt such a group approach at auto shows, forming large booths to attract more consumers to stop and watch.
Car companies are not having an easy time this year. This can be seen from the scale of the Guangzhou Auto Show, and this market environment of survival of the fittest will continue. Although the scale of the exhibition has been slightly reduced, I believe the popularity will still be high. It will change. We look forward to what kind of surprises this Guangzhou Auto Show will bring us.
