Edit this paragraph Personal Profile
Winners of the 2010 Winter Olympics (19 pictures) Born in Bucheon, South Korea, her family moved to Junpo when she was six years old, and she began skating at the age of seven after going to an ice rink not far from her home with her older sister, and soon won all the national championships, and by the age of 12 she was unbeaten in her home country (she had already completed all five types of triple jumps by then). At the age of 14, he became the youngest member of the national team, and since then he has been traveling from rink to rink, winning the Hungarian Junior Grand Prix, which was the best performance in the history of Korean skating, and the 2006 World Junior Championships, defeating Japan, which was already an international player, and winning the gold medal, and then he met the so-called "Hiddink", Brian Orser (who became his first disciple), and since then he has started to make a push for a world record. Since then, she has been striving for world records, never missing the podium as a teenager, rewriting the history of Korean skating with every breakthrough, and providing the world with top performances; she is undoubtedly the best in a mean society where only the first place will be remembered. The correct English spelling of Kim Yeon-A should be: Kim Yeon-A, but it was misspelled as Yu-na by the operating officials when they were going through the passport process, and it is still in use today.
Early career
Kim Yeon-A started practicing figure skating at the age of seven, and the coach saw her extremely high talent and suggested that her mother let her daughter continue to learn, and her family was not rich, so she was forced to let her older sister give up the practice of figure skating, and Kim Yeon-A has been on the road to figure skating ever since. In 2002, Kim Yeon Er participated in her first international competition (Triglav Trophy) and won the gold medal. A year later, at the age of 12, Kim won the Korean Junior Figure Skating Championships, becoming the youngest winner in the history of the event. She then went on to win her second international competition (Golden Bear of Zagreb) and won the Korean Figure Skating Championships again in 2004.
Junior Career
2004-2005 Season Kim Yeon-il competed as a junior at the World Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in China and Hungary, where she won the silver and gold medals, respectively, and then finished second with a high score at the World Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Finals. Following the national competitions, Kim Yeon-il finished second at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships. 2005-2006 season Due to age restrictions, Kim Yeon-il was unable to compete in the 2006 Winter Olympics. A worsening strain of ankle ligaments and poor training conditions, as well as her family's financial difficulties, led her to make the decision to retire after the national competition. But everything that happened in that competition made Kim remember that she was born for figure skating and decided to continue for the sake of the nation and the country. At the World Junior Figure Skating Grand Prix Snovonia and Bulgaria held in the same year, she won both. At the 2006 World Junior Figure Skating Grand Prix Finals, an injury-ridden Kim won the title with a 28.34-point lead over the second-place finisher, and at the World Junior Figure Skating World Championships that followed, Kim beat her rival to win the title with a 24.19-point advantage.
Adult Career
2006-2007 Season The young Kim had achieved so much on the ice, but no one had ever thought that she would almost quit the ice world. In the summer of 2005, plagued by skate problems and recurring knee injuries from time to time, Kim lost her confidence. When Kim's Korean coach decided that a change in her training environment would help her motivate, she was sent to Canada in the summer of 2006 to train with choreographer David Wilson. After three months of training in Canada, Kim realized that the training environment was so good that she decided to make Toronto her training base for the long term. It was here that she came into contact with former Winter Olympics silver medalist Brian Orser and offered him to be her full-time coach. "At first, I wasn't sure I could bring this rare and talented girl up to speed." Ossur said, but when Ossur saw that Kim Yeoner possessed the same undaunted competitive spirit as he did, Ossur felt it was a challenge he couldn't turn back from. Ossur and Wilson took on the shy but tough girl, and like an uncut diamond in the rough, the little girl had all the makings of a world champion, but her on-ice performance lacked one necessary ingredient: personality. A week went by, and Kim Yeol didn't even smile at all. And near the end of that summer, Kim Yeon-il became a funny, outgoing little girl, "Moving to Canada to train was the right choice I made, and Brian Orser was the right coach for me." She said.
06-07 season Lark High (8 pics) Under pressure and injury, Kim actually set the world record for the first time in the short program at the 2007 World Championships, while physically drained, she fell in the free skate that followed and ended up in 3rd place, earning South Korea two spots for next season. Meanwhile, Kim was the only competitor in the day's competition to use a 3-3 difficulty jump. And tragically, after the World Championships were over there were still no Korean companies willing to sponsor Kim Yeon-il. However, even so, Kim still smiled in the face and insisted on wandering on the ice rink for her dream in her heart: to win the gold medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. No matter how hard the road is, she is willing to persevere until the end, until the day she realizes her dream. 2007-2008 Season Kim won the 2007 Grand Prix of Figure Skating in China and Russia with the advantages of 24.34 and 24.43 respectively, and set a new world record held by herself. In the Grand Prix Final, Kim Yeon-il successfully defended her title with an outstanding performance. But then, Kim was diagnosed with a hip injury and persistent back pain made her miss the four continental figure skating competitions one after another. And Kim had to compete in the 2008 World Championships with a back injury, but her outstanding performance actually made her unexpectedly collect a bronze medal again.
08-09 Season Pictures (5) 2008-2009 Season This season, Kim changed her repertoire to a different style. She wore a white flower embellished black dress will be a song of the "Skeleton Dance" dance with a cool spiritual color, gold beads decorated with red dress plus hair on the chignon fluttering red headdress interpretation of the "Nightmare in Heaven" romantic and mysterious, Kim Yeoner style of short program and free skating ignited the audience's passion, applause and cheering with every high jump up to the ice, the speed of the fast ice skating and beautiful gesture! The applause and cheers echoed through the ice rink with every high leap and steady landing, speedy ice skating and graceful gesture of forgetful rotation. The jumping elves on the ice are like delicate flowers opening on the white ice surface, rippling with happiness in the ice crystals flying in the air, sending the purest and most beautiful wonderful experience straight into the heart of every audience. The talented Korean figure skating girl, Kim Yeon-ahn, thus resides in the heart of every viewer, making it unforgettable. In the Grand Prix of the United States station of the competition, she won with a 20-point advantage over the Japanese players, followed by the China station, and again with a 21-point advantage over the Japanese players. 08 in Vancouver in the four continents of the competition, Kim Yeoner with record-breaking results to win the championship, for the Olympic Games in two years for the good pavement. In the Grand Prix Final held in Vancouver, Kim came in second place with a narrow gap of 2.20, failing to complete the three consecutive Grand Prix titles. At the 2009 World Figure Skating Championships held in Los Angeles, USA, Kim Yeon Er infected the audience with an almost perfect performance, refreshing the world record held by herself, and becoming the first female singles skater with a total score of more than 200 points under the current scoring method, winning by 16.4 points, and making her the skater to win the World Championships with the largest margin since 2005. At the same time, she was the only 3-3 high jump to be recognized. 2009-2010 Season As the same judge ruled that the 3F-3T jumps were inaccurate in several consecutive matches last season, Kim changed her jumps from the original 3F-3T to the more difficult 3Lz-3T for the sake of safety, which was a brave attempt. In the 2009 French Grand Prix, Kim made her debut with a new look, and her near-perfect performance allowed her to once again set a new world record for the total score held by herself, winning the title with a 36.04 advantage over the Japanese competitor. After that, Kim Yeoner once again set a new world record in the short program to win the title. 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics figure skating women's single skating, short program, free skating Kim Yeoner perfect performance, with a total score of 228.56 points for the 11th time to refresh the record of the highest score, pressed the Japanese players, become the only one in the past thirty years to win the Olympic Games in the finished position of the female singles players, in the six previous Olympic Games, the women's singles title winner are in the short program or free skating in the losing In the previous six Olympic Games, the women's singles champion was defeated in the short program or free skating, and finally narrowly won with the total score. This shows the extraordinary dominance and huge advantage of Kim Yeoner, who is also the first World Championships and Olympic Games double champion since the implementation of the new scoring system, writing the history of figure skating, and she also won the first Winter Olympics gold medal for South Korea in figure skating. Her impressive record makes her the only figure skater in the history of figure skating to have won the Grand Slam in women's singles skating, including the World Junior Championships, Grand Prix Finals, Grand Prix stages, Four Continents Championships, World Championships, and the Winter Olympics.
