What's it like to explore Japan's niche beauty on a Royal Cruise?

Oceanic Traveler-Super Bun

I remember catching up with a Japanese anime called "King of Thieves" from many, many years ago. The story is about a guy named Luffy, who dreamed of becoming the King of Thieves who dominated the world, and embarked on an adventurous path to dominate the Seven Seas with his companions Now, many, many years have passed, and the King of Thieves is actually still being serialized I've grown up from a little kid to an old fart. However, going on an adventure by boat to the sea full of unknowns has always been a dream in my heart! In recent years, I have traveled to many places and experienced many adventures, yet I have never been brave enough to take a boat to challenge the sea - because I get seasick.

So only in the film and television works to find the joy of YY, every time I see the movie, those who go by boat in the sea adventure treasure hunt story, I am excited, but do not dare to act. But now the heart itching, also better than on the boat after the stomach itching strong

That said the beginning of this created such a strong dramatic contradiction, then how in the end I overcame the difficulties and countless hardships, and finally embarked on a cruise ship voyage of adventure road it?

Because

One day

========= I'm an intentional seller ========

I got a special deal on a cruise ship ticket~~~~

(10,000 "ha" words omitted)

It was the Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas, the first of its kind in the world. Is Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas cruise ship! Dang dang dang ~party~! (

And both stops on this voyage were in my favorite country, Japan.

So, with some trepidation, and in the spirit of No Zuo No Die I Must Try, I embarked on this great voyage.

Before we even arrived at the Shanghai Wusongkou pier, we saw the 10,000-ton cruise ship from afar - it was several times taller than the buildings at the pier.

The trip's departure from Shanghai was also quite profound for a "King of Thieves" fan like me.

I remember Luffy's classic quote about being "the man who wants to be the King of Thieves". Unfortunately, even though I was in Shanghai, I didn't get to meet the King of Thieves

It was just in time for the launch of Royal Caribbean's new ship, which was held at the Royal Theater on the Quantum of the Seas.

Captain Eric of Quantum of the Seas touched the crystal ball symbolizing the world of the future with Dr. Zinan Liu, Royal Caribbean's Senior Vice President of Global Operations and President of China and North Asia, signifying the beginning of a brand new voyage for the company: the launch of the ultra-quantum series "Spectrum of the Seas"!

Dr. Liu said that there are seven colors in the spectrum, and naming the new ship Spectrum signifies that it is full of colors, just like our lives. Earlier in the day, the Spectrum officially completed the steel cutting ceremony - in other words, construction has officially begun. The actual launch is still a ways off, with completion expected in 2019.

"Super Quantum Series" - as awesome as it sounds, it feels like Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas upgraded to Spectrum of the Seas, just like Pirates' Golden Merry to Sunny, with all the interesting features and programs that will be added, too. So much to look forward to!

After boarding the ship, the towed luggage had been brought right up to the cabin door. When I opened the door of the cabin, I was so impressed!

Simple design, stylish interior, rather than a cabin, this is a mini king-size room in a luxury hotel.

The cabin was bigger than expected, and all the furniture, appliances, etc. were designed with great care.

And it's obvious to see that everything has been improved in detail to better suit seafaring life.

On the outside of the cabin are floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views, so you can watch the unrivaled ocean even while lying in bed, as long as the bed curtains are drawn!

But it's a long voyage, and there's plenty of time to experience this bed later.

I simply packed all my bags and couldn't wait to start exploring the amazing cruise ship!

The Great Exploration of the Casino of the Seas

On Quantum of the Seas, the entire ship is a super-luxurious casino - there's so much to do here!

Take the 15-floor multi-purpose sports hall at sea, the main venue in the center can hold different activities at different times, just like magic. Usually it's a basketball court, but sometimes the baskets disappear and it becomes a roller skating rink, and there are a lot of bumper cars parked next to the venue, so it's often turned into a bumper car park as well. On either side of the main field, there's ping pong, foosball, foosball, and XBOX, but it's basically always occupied by bears.

Of course, Quantum of the Seas has put a lot of thought into the ship especially for the kids, such as the DreamWorks characters that can be found in many places on the ship, and sometimes even a little float parade or something in the Royal Plaza on the fourth floor.

The open-air swimming pool on the fifteenth floor also has a few of Madagascar's main characters to accompany you.

The open-air pool is not big, but it's great to sunbathe in a place with unrivaled views and swim a few laps in the pool when you're hot. What's even better is that there's a free supply of ice by the pool! Ice cream! Drizzle!

No wonder there are always more than 10,000 bears here, if I were a bear, I'd let my kids play here every day too happy!

Speaking of bears, the iconic object on the Quantum of the Seas, a big pink bear, immediately comes to mind.

This guy, Alpha Bear, is 9 meters tall, and when I stood next to him, I could only reach his knees.

The building with the bear on the roof is the Sea Multi-Sports Complex, next to the climbing wall.

The rock climbing is free and you don't need to make a reservation, but there is a line.

There are usually a lot of people at the start of the event, but fewer towards the end, and the queue closes half an hour before the end of the event, so there will be relatively few people there before the queue closes.

After the rock-climbing wall, there's another flight of steps up to the ship's 16th floor, where you'll find two extreme sports: parachute jumping and deck surfing.

Deck jumping is one of the hottest programs on Quantum of the Seas, so it's highly recommended to book it as soon as you get on board, or you might not have a spot available until you get off the ship.

The "skydive" is actually a large wind tunnel. The huge wind from below can blow people up into the air, and the feeling of soaring in the airflow is similar to that of parachuting, so it's as if you're parachuting on the deck.

I've been to a bigger wind tunnel in Chengdu before, and that one was specially designed for people learning to skydive, so they could practice gliding through the air and so on. The Quantum of the Seas above this is much smaller, but imagine, this is on a cruise ship, surrounded by the endless sea, on which can fly a little, the scenery is not to say, that if you send a circle of friends forcing the old high!

Deck surfing is a free program, surfing on a huge artificial wave machine, is definitely a super cool outdoor sports under the hot sun! But it's free, so like rock climbing, it's first-come, first-served, and you may have to wait in line for a long time when it's crowded.

That said, it's not easy to keep your balance on the fast-flowing water and not get "Bia" into the wall behind you. When I was standing in line, I saw a lot of people in front of me who just got on their boards and got swept away before they could do anything.

Finally, it's my turn, and although it's the first time I've played this, I've been on the board for a while, and not only have I not been washed away, but I've managed to get up on my hands and knees under the guidance of the staff next to me!

It is probably because I was kneeling down for a while, the British sister prompted me to continue to challenge the next advanced action: from kneeling directly into a cross-legged sitting!

It is said that there are two ways to complete this action, the more secure is to use both hands to support the head of the board, and then lift the waist to collect the abdomen and legs, from kneeling to sitting in one go, but because of the action of the body's flexibility requirements are very high, so the girls will generally choose this way.

There is a more exciting way , that is, both hands and legs at the same time force, the entire body away from the surface of the board, in the air when the completion of the action of the legs, and then steadily fall in the center of the board, continue to surf theoretically this way.

Looking at the British sister on the shore to show me this action, in the mind also secretly rehearsed a few times, feel that the time is basically ripe. When it was too late, I used my arms and legs to hold up the board, and under everyone's gaze, I perfectly lifted off, coiled my legs, and dropped down, ouch, I went to the board, wow, poof, hoot, hoot, hoot, hoot, hoot, hoot, hoot, hoot, hoot. By the time I was perfectly airborne, the board was well behind me.

When she was demonstrating, of course she couldn't tell me that I should push my board forward, because she was on the shore. And everyone is waiting in line, play deck surfing is not particularly clear time limit, generally is each person can surf as long as the surfing, until you are swept away by the water until the surfing. So if you're a decent surfer like me, you've been in the water for a couple of minutes, and it's time to move on.

The most famous and popular program on the entire boat is the North Star. The observation deck rises 300 feet above the sea and currently holds the Guinness record for the "world's tallest cruise ship observation deck".

So be the first to book it on board, and don't be late, or you may not get to ride it again for the whole cruise.

The Royal Theater on the fourth and fifth floors of Quantum of the Seas offers nightly entertainment.

The theater's traditional staple, The Odyssey of Music and Dance, incorporates a variety of musical and performance forms. The most impressive part of the show is the wall of drums, from which seven or eight people hang down to play at the climax.

There will also be this kind of passionate percussion movement, the rhythm, than the square dance what "move this big time" much faster, usually "move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move move" and then the end.

Of course, there are also Broadway-style operas.

Sometimes there's a more energetic psychedelic dance at night, too.

There's also the chance to see the famous Australian magician John Taylor perform a "live cut"!

Outside the theater, the fourth and fifth floors of the ship's midships are probably the liveliest places on the cruise ship, and this commercial walkway has the famous name of Royal Plaza.

Down a rotating staircase and across the street is an entire bustling shopping street!

The stores on both sides were full of color, and there was a steady stream of customers!

A "foodie's" feast at sea

The sea voyage is very long, and you have to eat three meals a day on the ship while sailing, so the food on the cruise ship has become even more important.

The delicious food on the Quantum of the Seas can satisfy the requirements of all kinds of foodies, and it is definitely "every cruise ship fat three kilograms" (the last three words will be a miracle if you read them upside down).

The ship's main buffet restaurant on the 14th floor, the first day of the ship at night to the buffet restaurant, which is really a variety of food, global cuisine, Southeast Asian style, Chinese fried dishes, freshly cut beef and lamb, desserts and fruits, ah!

The next day at noon to the buffet restaurant, global cuisine, Southeast Asian style Chinese fried dishes, desserts and fruits, freshly cut beef and mutton, desserts and fruits, everything ah!

The next night to the buffet restaurant, global cuisine Southeast Asian style Chinese stir-fry desserts fruits freshly cut beef and lamb desserts fruits all ah
