The North Pole Race is an international event.Before the start of the races on December 14, the Racing Center will be hosting a free event for families. Every year on December 13, Helsinki celebrates St. Lucia Day. After being crowned at Helsinki Cathedral, the new St. Lucia will slowly walk out wearing a white candle crown. The procession of St. Lucia will start at 6 p.m. from Senate Square and the route will follow Alexander Street, Mannerheim Street, Natty Street in North Espla and Market Square. The best way to participate in the St. Lucia Day celebrations is to follow the parade, accompanied by cute little elves.

The Seurasaari Christmas Trail is one of Helsinki's most popular wintertime events, and it's perfect for families with children. Along the Christmas Road, children will have the opportunity to experience a variety of Christmas activities, such as Christmas caroling and dancing, searching for elves, greeting Santa Claus, decorating the Christmas tree, and lighting the Christmas blessing candles. The Christmas Road creates a fairytale world full of Christmas spirit for children, where they can also learn about the customs of Christmas celebrations in the 18th century. The guardian of the Christmas Road is the president's wife, Yanni Haukio.

Selling a wide range of traditional handicrafts and original designs, Helsinki Fair also offers a rich selection of delicious organic food, including many traditional Christmas foods such as Christmas porridge, Russian pancakes and mulled wine. The carousel in the center of the market is the symbol of the Helsinki Christmas Market. The Art Factory in Polva is organizing a Christmas market with a design theme. You can find many new and unique designs at the market, such as purses made of fish skin. Christmas Peace Manifesto
