Jun's Story
Junnosuke Taguchi's charm lies in his smile. The clear eyes, the coy corners of his mouth. His smile, which is both clean and charming, is known as "Jun" among his fans. "When it comes to facial features, I like my eyebrows and nose, but I don't like my eyes because they're not the same size when you look closely. I'm the kind of person who can't stop minding it once I notice it, especially when I'm sleep deprived, so I pay extra attention to it when I'm taking pictures."
He was born in Kanagawa Prefecture, known as a high-class residential area, in the teeming, leafy hills that face the Pacific Ocean in a windy, sunny place.
"I used to hang out with Junnosuke his dad loved the beach so much that Junnosuke grew up sailing yachts. But he also had a very off-the-wall personality, often falling off the swings when playing in the park, or else going head-first on the slides, really careless." Taguchi himself confirms the story, "I've had a lot of injuries since I was a kid, and the biggest was when I was 5 years old, right? The biggest was when I was 5 years old, I think, when I was playing, I hit my head on the corner of a post and it was so badly cut that I could hardly see the bone, and then I hit the same place again by accident and it bled a lot. But my parents said, 'Boys should be happy, so even if I am naughty, they won't be angry.
Then he added, "When I was in the third grade, I went to a ship school in Yesan. There were many harbors around there, and some of my friends joined the school, so we went to school together. Ships may look elegant at first glance, but they are a kind of battle with nature. One time we took a boat from Yeosan I to Oil Kettle. The wind was particularly strong that day, and as we fumbled with the steering wheel, we were nearly swung overboard several times. Even though the boat's steering wheel is used to turn, it takes quite a bit of air. I was there for about 3 years and trained my back strength and guts well in that time. I'd quite like to sail the boat now if I have time."
A friend of his at the time said: "He was very popular with the girls, he was a big celebrity, and Jun's brother was also very handsome, and the two of them were known as the most beautiful men in the neighborhood. Boats and beautiful men conjure up images of romance. But Taguchi grew up to be a kid who was very cognizant of reality.
'There's no such thing as Santa Claus. And what kind of old man wears a red suit and flies around with a reindeer in his hand.' That's what I would tell my friends. I grew up a pretty sober kid.'' A housewife who lived near Taguchi's house at the time told us, "Mrs. Taguchi had a very cheerful personality, and perhaps because of her mother's influence, Junnosuke was also a bold child. I think it's also his mother's influence that he dresses so well."
When it comes to dressing up, Taguchi says, "Since I was a kid, I've been wearing clothes that my father bought me. I wore red plaid shirts and short shorts. When I think about it now, I think I should have been more assertive. But maybe it's because my mom's taste in clothes was pretty good, so I didn't have a problem with it," he added. He added, "When I was in 5th grade, I refused to wear rainboots and insisted on wearing sneakers even when it rained. Rainboots are really ugly when you're dragging around in them! I didn't want the girls in my class to see me in shorts and rainboots. It's easier to wear shorts when it's raining, but since I have to dress up, I can't afford to think about it that much, and as I get older, I'm getting more and more demanding when it comes to clothes."

An idol as soon as he transferred to another school: despite his cheerfulness, Taguchi had a side of him that people didn't know was hard. During his senior year of elementary school, his parents separated for some reason.
"He suddenly said he wanted to move, and all he knew was that he was going to move to the Sagamihara neighborhood, and I told him
'Write to me when you find out where you're going to live! But he hasn't heard anything since then. Taguchi's elementary school classmates told us. In June of his sixth year of elementary school, Taguchi moved with his mother to the Kitasato area of Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, where the closest bus stops are Sagamihara Station on the Odakyu Line, Dangma Station on the Sagamihara Line, and Furuyuchi Station on the Yokohama Line, and it takes more than 15 minutes to catch a bus from each of those stations. Walking past the Sagamihara Golf Club, his house is near Kitasato University, which has a vast hinterland off Zelkova Road. Across the road is Nissan Motor's Kobayashi, and next to it are facilities such as Sagamihara Park and the Women's Art University, making it a typical schoolteacher's city.
Taguchi transferred to Sagamihara City Onuma Elementary School. The school was about a 10-minute bus ride from his home at the time, so Taguchi commuted by bus every day. His classmates at Onuma Elementary School said, "It seems that the school district in this neighborhood has been specially planned, and the school next to Kitasato Hospital is Onuma Elementary School, but it is still a bit far away in terms of distance. There were only three students from this area who went to Onuma Elementary School in the same year. Taguchi is quite stubborn and doesn't mention anything about his previous school." He then added, "Whenever I see him, I think he's a good person. He added, "Whenever I mentioned that I had traveled with my father or my family, he looked very silent. According to his personality, he wasn't bullied at his old school, so maybe it's because his parents are divorced that he feels so hurt! On the first day of his transfer, he greeted the class like this: "I'm Junnosuke Taguchi, who just transferred to Onuma Elementary School." It was an ordinary introduction, but I still can't forget the way he tilted his head slightly and raised his eyes to speak. He also reached out and lifted his hair. It's a bit pretentious, but I can't deny that it's really handsome." There was another commotion after the pilgrimage. As soon as it was time for class to end, female students from other classes gathered in Taguchi's class. There were about 20 of them at a time, and they watched Junnosuke Taguchi's 'actions' from the window. That's why Taguchi, who had only transferred to the school on the first day, became the idol of the school. "After a few days, the number of visitors slowly decreased, but at least 5 or 6 girls from other classes would come to see him after class. This continued until he graduated."
Two girls who were Taguchi's classmates told us, "I remember the day Taguchi transferred in, it was a real sensation for the whole school! "There's such a handsome boy transferring in," they said. There wasn't a girl in the school who didn't talk about it. What was it, a week before he transferred? Some of the girls saw him and his mother visiting the school. "The boy who's transferring in is so handsome!" And they publicized it everywhere, so that no girl in the school didn't know about it. It caused quite a stir." Taguchi's image of a beautiful man was already so y rooted in people's hearts even before he transferred to another school. "But usually, when this kind of news is released, when the transfer student actually arrives, it usually ends with a comment like, "Come on, it's nothing more than that... ......". Or: "If I knew, I shouldn't have expected too much." But Taguchi didn't disappoint. That day, when the head teacher brought him through the corridor of the 6th grade classroom, all the girls in the class screamed at the sight of him. No one had a meeting with the teacher, and even if they were scolded by the teacher, they didn't listen, they just stuck their heads out of the window or crowded in the doorway to look at the beautiful man, because he was really too handsome. There was also a lot of commotion about which class Taguchi was going to be assigned to. We were in class 3, and the classrooms were at the far end of the stairs, so every time he walked past a classroom, the girls in the other classes would yell, "What? Aren't you coming to our class? Don't go! It was so loud that all the other classes could hear it. When he passed in front of Class 2, he said, "That's great." I couldn't help but shout." From this woman's account, you can see how much of a stir Taguchi created on the first day of his transfer.
When it comes to Taguchi's impression, girls would say that he likes to put on airs and graces, and that he's a real show-off.
Whenever he talks to a girl, he tilts his head 45 degrees. But luckily it's not annoying. Even though I know he's doing it on purpose, he just has that kind of air about him." This shows that he really is a very popular transfer student.
It was said that he wasn't a hard worker, but when it came to gym class it was a different story. "Whether it's gym class or club activities, he's super energetic."
His club is the 'Mini Basketball Club'. "He's really cool when he plays basketball! Because it's elementary school basketball, it doesn't really matter where you play, as long as you can pass and score. Because of this, most of the members don't have a fixed position.
But in our team, there is a tacit agreement that we must let Jun score at the end of the game. At first, Jun might be on defense, but at some point he would be standing in the shooting zone waiting for the ball to be thrown. Maybe everyone thought he had a high percentage of hits too!
But whether that was an instinctive move on his part or a well thought out one is unknown."
Chapter 4
It was just about this time that word spread throughout the school that Taguchi had become a Janus Kid.
He did send his resume to the Janis office during this time period, and asked his mother, who was a big fan of SMAP member Takuya Kimura, to send it.
The woman who provided us with much of Taguchi's information earlier:
"I really wanted to get into the Janis office, it was my goal and dream, so to speak.
But it hasn't worked out so far!"
He replied seriously. "Taguchi has star qualities, and he wants to join the Janis office, so naturally, his classmates are supportive, but there are some things that he's done too much of.
I don't know what he thought of himself.
But he often looks out the window into the distance during class, or else he ruffles his hair and acts cool.
Super like he's acting."
But just hearing Taguchi's "Janis Boy Manifesto" did cause a squeal from the female students in the class.
I wonder what Taguchi is like to the male students in the class?
"When he first transferred here, girls came to the class every day to see him and screamed while they watched him, it was really noisy.
While he was a good-looking guy, it was hard for us to see him surrounded by girls all day long. However, after a week, the boys in the class are slowly warming up to him.
The reason Jun got on well with us is because he has a very well-developed motor nerve, and can be described as a jack of all trades.
In the case of elementary school students, it's only natural for a guy with more developed limbs to be the class favorite.
Jun joined the dodgeball club at school. Because of his small size, he didn't have big hands, so he always had to use both hands to throw the ball like a girl.
While he throws the ball with both hands, it's pretty fast and he uses that weird slalom method, which is honestly not very catchable.
It feels a bit like a magic ball. Every time he throws it, he yells,
"Finger of God Flying Ball!
And the ball literally fell off in the middle.
So without realizing it, he got along well with the boys in his class.
It was only later that he realized that it wasn't his fault that the girls would be so exaggeratedly flirty.
After that we hung out a lot."
The transfer student, who was too popular with the girls, soon developed a good friendship with the boys as well.
"At that time, video games were very popular in our school, but Jun didn't seem to like playing them at home, so he wasn't interested in them at all, but even so, if he did play, he was pretty good.
So we played with him almost exclusively outside. At the time, yo-yos were very popular. We'd play at the playground after school, or we'd play around the house." Other students said, "In Sagamihara City, where we lived, there was a 'joint sports meet' against elementary schools in addition to the sports meets held by the schools.
And then there's the graduation ceremony in March.
"The closer we get to the graduation ceremony, the more than half of the female students in my class are obviously depressed.
Since Taguchi doesn't live near Onuma Kokusai Elementary School, it's closer to Kitasato.
If he were to continue on to higher education, he would probably choose to do so near his home as well, i.e., Magodai Kokusai Junior High School, which is different from almost half of his class.

So it can be said that more than half of the students had to part with Taguchi at this elementary school. On the day of the graduation ceremony, instead of crying because of the sadness of graduation, most of the female students cried because of the separation from Taguchi," he told us. Transferring to another school and finally entering the Janis office:
"Sagamihara City Sangamagudai Junior High School" is located about a 10-minute walk from Taguchi's house.
"I was in the same club as Taguchi. We were in the basketball club.
"I like anything that is sporty.

According to this student, it is clear that Taguchi is still popular with the girls at his new school. "I heard: "There is a handsome guy named Junnosuke Taguchi who will be attending your school."
Some students at Onuma Elementary School spread the news beforehand.
When I saw him in person, I really felt that his smile was very kind and his looks were very present.
Even girls from different classes immediately became fans of that guy and came to the classroom to talk to him as soon as class was over," he said. The same situation as at Onuma Elementary School also happened at Magodai Elementary School.
According to a female classmate in his grade,
"One of his charms was that he would occasionally look sad.
Whenever you see him frowning y as if he's worried about something, it makes you want to solve all his problems for him.
The look in his eyes when he fell into silence was very different from how he felt when he was laughing openly.
Perhaps it was this difference that attracted the other girls! Honestly, so do I."
Although he practiced every day at the basketball club, "He wasn't very active on the court. I can't say he's any worse than the rest of the team in terms of skill or fitness.
He transferred to another school when he was in the first grade.
So when he first transferred to Magodai Junior High School, he was just like any other 1st grader, either practicing fundamentals, cleaning the gym or scrubbing balls.
Honestly, it's a shame that by the summer of 2nd grade, he was already strong enough to be a full-time player!" At the end of his first semester in Kokusai 2, the Taguchi family moved to Higashibayama, also in Sagamihara City. A classmate at the time told us:
"He didn't tell us the reason for the move, but I heard that his grandfather, who had lived with them since the winter of his first year of junior high school, had passed away.
This was a sad and painful memory for Taguchi.
Taguchi's grandparents were almost always responsible for taking care of him. His grandparents were almost always responsible for taking care of him. As a result of his grandfather's sudden death, Taguchi, who had always been lively, became quiet. I went to the funeral.

In May of 1999, he joined the Janis office.
"I've always been determined to go into show business. I wanted to perform my favorite songs and dances on TV.
Wondering how far I can shine with my talent in this area." Junnosuke Taguchi, who started the Janis Kid training program, had mentioned his ambition to his classmates at Upper Tsuruma Middle School. After that, he also made his way to the fluorescent screen with great speed.
The first drama he appeared in was "Horror Sunday" (Nippon Television) on August 15, 1999, where he performed in the 6th episode, "The 3rd person is coming," only three months after he joined the agency.
"It was my first time acting and I was very nervous. I stammered my lines a few times and ate them,
Taguchi said. Instead of dancing, which is her specialty, she made her debut in a TV series. Even Taguchi, who is overly in love with appearances, feels heavy pressure.
Then in 2000, he appeared in the 4th episode of "Horror Sunday 2000" (Nippon Television) in the "Firebugs" unit, where he made his debut in places other than the stage. In 1999, Taguchi joined the baseball team "J2000" and played baseball with Tsubasa Imai and Kazuya Kamehashi.
