This movie is not at all melodramatic, but I secretly reddened my eyes a few times

Recently, a new Korean movie has rushed into the public's attention and will be the biggest hit for Koreans to hit the Oscar for best foreign language film. It has been called the Korean movie of the year, with a Douban rating of 9.1, no fancy titles, no handsome renditions.

But I wanted to write about it: Taxi Driver

In 1980 South Korea, there is political chaos and a military dictatorship. In order to survive, in order to justice, people have taken to the streets, shouting and demonstrating, but as individual students, ordinary citizens, their power is minimal, coupled with the information blockade and media restrictions, especially in Gwangju, a series of tragedies, has become an indelible scar for Koreans.

The movie is based on true events, and we see the past through the eyes of a cab driver, Kim Si-Bok, and a German journalist, Peter.

The green cabs appear like little grasshoppers as a relaxing piece of music plays.

Kim Si-Bok, a Seoul cab driver in a yellow shirt, is a single father who wants his daughter to have a better life, free from the bullying of the neighborhood boys, and he intends to make money to buy a house.

When he comes across a parade, he turns around, is startled by a college student who rushes out of nowhere, crashes his headlights and screams in pain, and when he encounters a pregnant woman who is about to give birth, he gets in the car immediately, and the kindness that floods his heart is answered in a hundredfold.

No money to pay the fare, nagging a few words, or sincerely to the passengers, said: "I wish you a smooth labor!

Every time you return home, cover the car with a black cloth to avoid scratches. The average person lives a discreet and humble life, and wants nothing more than to have a peace of mind.

When he saw his daughter Eun-jung was injured, he was furious, but when he found his daughter's mother, Sang-ku, who was bullying her, he immediately swallowed his anger because of the rent arrears.

At dinner, the meticulous driver tied his daughter's hair with a nice bow (which is illuminated later in the movie), rubbed medicine on her forehead with his little finger, and advised his daughter to face those pressures: ignore him, people should know how to endure, and people live with a lot of wrongdoing.

The living environment, subconsciously change a person's character, just the world, slowly affect the subsequent choice.

The government issued martial law, he first thought of "will not have to pull the guests ah", good daughter in a side sleep.

On the other hand, a German journalist from Japan, Mr. Schinzpeter, has arrived in South Korea as a missionary, and in the face of the foreign situation, he shows more worry and professional ethics.

While having dinner with a friend, he hears that a run to Gwangju will earn him $100,000, so he twirls his ass and dances and decides to pull a job.

The movie is colorful and soothing.

However, he doesn't realize that in the car is a reporter from Germany who decides to cover the college student parade that he spits out at the beginning, and for the sake of money, a run counts. Needless to say, Song Kang-ho brings this bit of small-town folk to life.

The two have some difficulty communicating as they don't speak the same language. When they arrive in Gwangju, they encounter roadblocks and stops, and the two disagree, but in order to get the money, the driver is forced to choose to take a side road and after a few twists and turns, they arrive at their destination.

The streets are dying, store doors are closed, banners are everywhere, and a truck with windy Gwangju youths meets the driver, who realizes the true identity of the reporter.

The driver was tailing the truck, worried about the car being scratched so turned around and ran away, met the grandmother on her knees, couldn't bear to take a ride, and the first thing he asked was, "Granny, do you have any money for the car?" Really good and funny.

It is this grandmother who rushed to the hospital to see her son, and introduced the public vision to the bloody war.

Here, a group of cab drivers are encountered, as well as the man who has just been in the truck, and the two sides negotiate a very unpleasant situation, the driver is looked down upon because he does not want to be stirred into the right and wrong, and later, he tells everyone with his actions that he is not a money-grubbing coward.

The wounded and the sick that come into view seem to have touched the driver a little bit. Again encountered a group of journalists, was misunderstood to steal the handover bag to escape, at this time 100,000 fare, causing other cabs angry.

The driver decides to send the reporter back to Seoul and collect the fare. The English-speaking college student Koo Joo-sik (familiarly known as Dog Hwan) gets in the car and acts as an interpreter for the two of them, and the three of them arrive at a crowded plaza where the locals are gathered.

The driver looks confused, but he's somewhat amused by the welcoming faces. A woman delivering food tenderly hands him rice balls.

The trio make their way to the rooftop, where they meet a local reporter, and it turns out that the reason for the false information about casualties on the radio was the government blockade. The driver collapses in the corner eating rice balls, not that he cares.

When the chaotic fight scene appears in front of the eyes, everything is real to the point of fear. The movie starts from here, a change of bright painting style, into the dark lens.

The driver is worried about his daughter, who is home alone, but can't even make a phone call when his car breaks down and he's trying to get back to Seoul before curfew. At this point, Peter apologizes by handing out the fare, and the driver, in a moment of impatience, has trouble controlling his emotions.

In the face of disaster, people are so powerless, and in the face of emotion, money is so humble.

The local driver and his party began to think of ways to repair the car, the big brother will bring the two back home for dinner, a group of people lively meal, forgetting the pain behind.

Sometimes I am moved by this spirit. Remembering the pain does not mean that you have to live in pain and hurt all the time, everyone should live well, this is the state of life should be.

Meanwhile, local journalists who were printing the newspaper were arrested, and false and seductive messages were broadcast on TV to hide the truth.

The quest for truth becomes a way for this otherwise disparate group of people to come together and **** fight together.

The madness of the pursuit, and thus began.

The pursuit of the truth has brought this group of people, who were originally unlike-minded and unlike-minded, together to **** with the fight. Planting said in English: " escape and tell the world what happened here."

The moment the driver fell while fleeing and saw the naked, stranded people in the truck on the side of the road was a shocking moment. When he hits a dead end, he is caught by soldiers with batons and beaten over his head, and is freed only when a reporter smashes his head from behind.

Late at night in the room, the cold air swirled with two unsettled hearts.

At first light, the driver, preoccupied with his daughter, finds a repaired cab and prepares to head back to Seoul, with Peter pretending to be asleep on the sidelines.

The driver thinks his daughter is the most important thing, and Peter thinks the truth is the most important thing. He knows that everyone has something they think is really important, and he respects his choice.

As he prepares to leave, he meets the big brother who entertained him, hands him a local license plate, and passes on the fare he was given by the reporter. The driver repeatedly apologized and felt he shouldn't have backed down on this, but there was nothing he could do.

In the grand scheme of things, everyone's choices are hard.

The driver's head said something like "It's not you who did the wrong thing, they're the bad guys." Sadness helplessly tilted his head and looked at the sky.

Leaving Gwangju, it seemed to have escaped from hell, the sky was brightening, and the yellow shirt was back to its inherent brightness. He called his daughter to say hello.

Passing by the mall, he bought a nice pair of shoes for his daughter (the well-behaved Eun-jung had been wearing them as slippers because they were too small). When the driver enters a small restaurant, people are talking about Gwangju, listening to false reports on TV, and the newspaper on hand says "fabricating unsubstantiated rumors".

When eating noodles, the boss's wife served a rice ball over, the driver's face changed, mouth said "delicious delicious", I think at that moment, he must be thinking of the square that handed him the rice ball woman it.

Looking at the pink shoes, he felt satisfied, nothing can stop a heart to go home. Along the way, he was again like the beginning of the movie, blowing the refreshing wind, humming a cheerful song, as if life is back to calm and peaceful.

On the other hand, it can be seen that the Gwangju government's blockade of the local state of affairs, the outside world is blissfully unaware. Not affected in the slightest.

However, the stormy calm does not last long. Singing, the driver's face showed a difficult look, his heart seems to be suffering from some kind of torment, in and out of the dilemma.

At an intersection, hurt tears. So an emergency U-turn, return to the small town, upon arrival, learned that planted dead, " Gwangju not enough coffins " so the body is parked on the dank floor. He sadly put on the shoes for Planting.

This act carries a certain sense of ritual.

This time, instead of flinching and ducking, the driver hands a disoriented reporter something, then holds up his camera and encourages him to keep filming, to let the world know what's happening here.

"I'm a cab driver, you're a cab passenger", after a few trials and tribulations, the two became comrades in arms and decided to fight together, if the driver in some moments in front of him is more thinking of "little me", after this, his consciousness is "The first time I saw this, I was in the middle of it.

In the middle of the road, people who have been shot lie helplessly, the middle is occupied by the military, and the living are hidden in the alleys on both sides of the road, helpless. Youths raising white flags were shot to the ground by gunfire as soon as they stepped onto the road, and people were plunged into endless despair and terror.

Big brother decided to drive a cab to the middle of the road to intercept cover the bullets, and take the opportunity to save the wounded on the road, at this time, the driver took the brunt.

The fat man in a big truck rushes out from the opposite side (the son of the grandmother of the roadside taxi), blocking the line of sight of the shooting, and the crowd rushes to the street to rescue the wounded.

The military urgently pursued and shot numerous people. Drivers shed tears of sorrow, and journalists put down their cameras, unable to bear shooting. They realized that at this rate, no one could escape.

So, Big Brother led a cab squad to escort the driver out, and along the way the cars and cabs fought to the death, and for the sake of a truth, a line of people do not hesitate to lose their lives.

Escorted by the driver, journalist Peter finally arrived at the airport and flew to Japan. Two people in the car will be all the way since the hard work of obtaining the image data into the cookie cutter box, the driver meticulously tied a good-looking bow.

At this moment, in his heart, everything in front of him is almost as important as his daughter, and he hopes that everything will come to an end, and the knot can be put down.

The driver did not leave the real contact information, perhaps, he wanted to remain anonymous, without anyone to thank, perhaps, he just wanted to return to the ordinary, to be a good father, the world is stable.

At the end of the movie, Peter, the reporter, expressed his gratitude and nostalgia for his good friend Jin Si Fu in his speech, but he didn't see him again after all.

Perhaps, this true love and the light of humanity is what touches me the most.

Opposing war and calling for peace, opposing dictatorship and calling for democracy. The lives and deaths of ordinary people have become the background color of vast history, and the colorful, glittering humanity.

The end of the film, I was slightly touched by that distant history, but more is the warmth of the heart, as well as the deep respect for the yellow shirt that shuttles in the sound of gunfire and smoke. Writing this, I have to say that I am looking forward to the release of Feng's new work, "Fanghua", in the dusty history, and what will be the bright and colorful years and bright human nature.

People encounter all kinds of misfortunes, but the river of life is endless. The rain is blowing on my face, I wrapped my jacket tightly, and I can't help but accelerate my pace.
