In fact, Lao Tzu put forward three good methods in his Tao Te Ching, namely:
1, empty its heart
When it comes to "empty city plan", I think of Xiang Yu and Liu Bang.
Xiang Yu was brave and good at fighting. After Julu defeated the main force of Qin Jun and killed Zi Ying, the king of Qin, he became the overlord of Xi.
Unfortunately, the overlord of Chu was arrogant and never paid attention to Liu Bang, which led him to be defeated by Liu Bang in the Chu-Han War.
In 202 BC, Xiang Yu, who was losing ground, finally felt ashamed to face his elders in Jiangdong after hearing that he was besieged on all sides, so he committed suicide in Wujiang. ?
Unlike Xiang Yu, Liu Bang has always been "vain" and learned from his generals.
It was with this kind of leadership wisdom that Liu Bang got the full assistance of Sean, Han Xin and other valiant generals, and finally defeated Xiang Yu, whose personal combat capability was far stronger than his own.
It can be seen that people who know how to "empty their hearts" will not be too bad luck.
2, a solid abdomen
"Fill your stomach" means "don't pursue material things excessively, but ask to fill your stomach".
As the Tao Te Ching wrote: "Happiness is inevitable from now on", even if you can earn a lot of money, you can't prevent it in the end.
Because there is more money, there will be more struggles around you, and eventually you will lose these wealth in all kinds of intrigue.
Everyone who pursues wisdom knows a truth, that is, "happiness can't be maintained from now on." So they pursue a "solid belly" and turn to the glory of the spiritual world.
3. Weak ambition
"Weaken one's ambition" means "reduce one's desire".
As the Tao Te Ching wrote: "The disaster is greater than dissatisfaction, and the blame is greater than desire, so satisfaction is often enough." If you are not satisfied, you can't stop pursuing your desires. However, there is a limit to everything. Once your desire exceeds your limit, it is likely that the result will be counterproductive and even bring disaster to yourself.
Therefore, people who pursue wisdom will "weaken their ambitions" and become "less selfish and less lustful".
To sum up, Lao Tzu believes that if a person wants to be wise, he must do three things: "hollowing out his heart", "consolidating his stomach" and "weakening his will".
Doing these three things is enough to overcome most of the weaknesses of human nature and become a person who runs counter to the sun and lives as gorgeous as summer flowers.
Overcoming most of the weaknesses of human nature is the value and ultimate significance of our existence in this world!
