Tang Pak Fu is one of Stephen Chow's classic movies. It portrays the classic image of Tang Pak Fu, who is "others laugh at me for being too crazy, but I laugh at others for not being able to see through me", and is happy on the outside but sad on the inside. Although it has the same nonsensical style as Master Sing's other masterpieces: yellow and dirty paragraphs flying all over the place, the addition of Gong Li makes this movie unique and distinctive.
Unlike Chow's other deconstructed classic historical and literary figures, such as Su Beggar, Wei-Shou-Bou, and Pao Ching-Tian, Tang Yin, a famous historical literati and tart, is actually quite strongly tragic in Chow's rendition, as he was not loved by the best in his life, and although he had many wives and concubines, all of them existed in name only, and he even spends an Even Chou-heung, whom he spends an entire movie pursuing, ultimately proves to be a lousy gambler. He also never got any real friendship in his life, and the movie utilizes a lot of nonsensical sequences to tell the story of how he and his best friend Zhu Zhishan played tricks on each other and betrayed each other.
It's no wonder that he sighs the sentence: "Others laugh at me for being too crazy, I laugh at others for not being able to see through it," and when you think about it, the person who sighs is really full of desolation and helplessness, with a strong sense of loneliness and helplessness. But the movie, "Tong Pak Fu Point Qiu Xiang", wraps up this tragic kernel with a lot of comedic laughs, which is in fact the same as "The King of Comedy" in which Yin Tianqiu is a play out of the same source.
The next thing to say is that Gong Li, who plays the first female lead, will be better than Gong Li in this role if she is played by Maggie Cheung, Cai Shaofen, or even Qiu Shuzhen, Zhang Min, and other veteran actors. Farewell My Concubine, the newcomer to Hong Kong, she was unwilling to shake off her baggage to meet the requirements of Stephen Chow's nonsensical comedy, so no matter from the degree of completion of the movie, or the comedy effect of the entire movie, due to the addition of Gong Li, have been greatly reduced. The role of "Chou-heung" is definitely the most failed role of Gong Li.
But no matter what, Tang Pak Fu Point Chouxiang is still a childhood classic for several generations, "cockroach", "Hua An RAP", "the magnificent pomegranate", "the most beautiful", "the most beautiful", "the most beautiful", "the most beautiful", "the most beautiful", "the most beautiful", "the most beautiful", "the most beautiful", "the most beautiful". These laughs will stay in our hearts forever.
