NO <<My 1919>>
The movie My 1919 takes the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 as the backdrop, and shows vividly the historical events of 80 years ago, when the Chinese diplomatic corps refused to sign the Versailles Peace Treaty. Through the historical event of the Chinese diplomatic mission refusing to sign the "Versailles Peace Treaty", the movie vividly demonstrates China's diplomacy 80 years ago, eulogizes the unyielding national spirit and vigorous patriotic passion of the Chinese nation, and also reveals the truth that "a weak country has no diplomacy". The movie highlights and depicts the brilliant achievements of Gu Weijun (played by Chen Daoming), a talented Chinese diplomat at the beginning of this century, who, as a plenipotentiary of the Chinese government, defended the dignity of the country and the rights and interests of the Chinese nation at the Paris Peace Conference and refused to sign the Versailles Peace Treaty, and Xiao Kejian, a patriotic French intellectual of Chinese descent who was born in France, who was a member of the Chinese government. Xiao Kejian (played by He Zhengjun), a patriotic French intellectual, set himself on fire in Versailles Square in order to fight against the powers and seek justice, which is a touching and heartfelt historical story that truly reproduces the international society and international relations after the First World War. The movie shows how difficult it was for a "weak country" (China at that time) to seek justice and equality in the international society of the great powers. However, China finally stood up and said no to the powers for the first time! And so began a new chapter in China's century.
