1.Road Map
2 Days Tour Route
Day1:Hongmengyan - Dongtai - Hongmengyan - Fayun Temple - Zhonghua Roof Arch - Beitai - Zhongtai - Xitai - Jixiang Temple - Lions' Nest
(1)Walking: Hongmengyan - Dongtai (1 hour) - Hongmengyan (1 hour)
A.Dongtai Wanghai Mountain, 2796 meters above sea level. Watch the sunrise. The Wanghai Temple on the top of the platform enshrines the Dharma body of the Bodhisattva of Wisdom Manjushri;
B. Hongmenyan, 2,500 meters above sea level, 1.8 kilometers from Hongmenyan to the top of Dongtai, an ascent of 246 meters;
C. To get to Dongtai from Hongmenyan, get off the car at the paikou next to Dashibei, and go in. You don't need to take another route at the top of Dongtai, just follow the mountain road because it is dark and uphill at this time of the day;
D. It is very cold when the sun rises on the mountain, especially when the sunrise is in the windy part of the mountain. The master of Dongtai Wanghai Temple will kindly open the door of his store at 4:30 to let everyone in to avoid the wind, but the room is too small to accommodate 2 or 30 people, especially since the seating capacity is 10 at most, and the rest will have to stand;
E. After watching the sunrise, you can use the morning fast at Wanghai Temple. 5-10 yuan coins at your own risk. No one will blame him if he is really cheeky and doesn't pay;
F. Go down the mountain around 6:30pm, there is Naro Rock Cave next to Wanghai Temple. I chose whether to go down there to have a look based on my fitness, time and interest;
G. When I went down the mountain, it was very bright and I could clearly see the way down. Choose to approach the downhill road and take a shortcut down the hill instead of taking the zigzag lane.
(2) Hongmen Rock - Fayun Temple (1-2 hrs) - Chinese Roof Arch (1-2 hrs) - North Terrace (1 hr)
A. Nodou Peak in North Taiwan, at an altitude of 3,061 meters, is the tallest peak in the Wutai Mountains. The Lingying Temple at the top of the terrace enshrines the unmarked Dharma body of Manjushri Bodhisattva;
B. Fayun Temple, 2,559 meters above sea level, and Chinese Roof Arch, 2,858 meters above sea level, Hongmen Rock-Fayun Temple, 3.8 kilometers, 59 meters ascent (slow ascent); Fayun Temple-Chinese Roof Arch, 3.2 kilometers, 299 meters ascent (even steeper); and Chinese Roof Arch-Beitai Dome, 2.1 kilometers, 203 meters (steeper);
C. From Hongmen Rock to Beitai, there are two intersections, the shortcut and the highway. The shortcut is the slope opposite Hongmen Rock on Dongtai Mountain. If you are afraid of getting lost, choose to enter the pagoda and take the normal highway road. The highway road is an hour detour but much safer. Meanwhile the ramp on this road is a more gently ascending gravel road with a windy, unsteady stand on the near road. The shortcut exit is Fayunji.
D. Through Fayun Temple, you can see the Chinese roof arches from a distance and choose a cross-cutting path. You don't need a zigzag path around cars. The Chinese roof arch is the apex of Northern Taiwan.
(3) Northern Taiwan - Bath - Central Taiwan (2 hours)
A. Cui Diem Peak on the middle platform, 2,890m above sea level, is the top of the platform with the highest number of temples, and the Yen Chiao Temple on the top of the platform is dedicated to Buddha Manjushri;

C. Standing on top of the North Platform, you can clearly see the buildings on top of the Middle Platform and the West Platform, as well as most of the roads leading up to the Middle Platform;
D. Not far from the top of the North Platform there is a shortcut. The shortcut is around a large rocky hill. Most people choose to take the regular driveway because they can't see the road well enough to take it;
E. When you get to the top of the center platform, there are two forks, one far and one near. It is recommended to climb the top of the middle platform by going in close, with a height difference of about 50 meters. It's steep, but much closer, or it would be
D. The Falei Temple pagoda is the top of the west platform and the ramp to the Lion's Den. Climbing into the pagoda is the top of the west platform. Some donkeys call the Falei Temple pagoda a pass, and the name is correct.
(5) West Platform - Falai Temple Pai Fang (0.5 hours) - Jixiang Temple (1.5-2 hours) - Lion's Nest (1 hour)
A. The Lion's Nest is 2,317 meters above sea level, 3.8km from West Platform to Jixiang Temple, with a drop of 423m (decelerating); Jixiang Temple - Lion's Nest, 4.6km, with a drop of 30m (gentle);
B. There is no branch road from Falai Temple pagoda to Jixiang Temple; there is a three-forked road from Jixiang Temple to Lion's Nest. This short road must go over two small hills. It is recommended to take the main road, otherwise it is easy to get lost.

Remarks:
(a) There is a shortcut from Shishiwu - Jingu Temple. The shortcut is through the forest and down the mountain. It is not recommended and easy to get lost;

Dongtae
Dongtae, also known as Wanghae Mountain, is 2,795 meters above sea level and has a ridge on top. Dongtai is the smallest of the five terraces, with an area of only 70,000 square meters. There used to be the Wanghai Tower on the stage. It is said that climbing to the top of the tower you could overlook the sunrise over the East Sea, hence the name. Today the building has been destroyed, but it is still magnificent to watch the sunrise in the early morning, see the beautiful mountains and enjoy the changing sea of clouds. If you are lucky, you can also see the rare Buddha's light.
Xitai
Taiwan's western name is Moon Peak, which is 2,773 meters above sea level and has a flat, broad top. On Tuesdays, it is named after the bright moon, which looks like a hanging mirror when it sinks to the west. At the top of the west platform is the Falei Temple, where the lion roars Manjushri. Buddhist legend has it that Manjushri uses a lion as his mount to symbolize his ferocity.
Nantai
Nantai, also known as Jinxiu Peak, is 2,485 meters above sea level. If the top is covered with a jar, the top area of Nantai is about 140,000 square meters. It says: "The peaks are steep, the smoke and waves are colorful and green, the grass is mixed with the fragrance of flowers, and the mountains are full of flowers, hence the beauty of the name." On the top of the south platform there is a Fuseki dedicated to Wisdom Manjushri. In Fuseki, the historic stone Buddha temple still remains.
North Terrace
North Terrace, also known as Ye Dou Bee, has a top area of 370,000 square meters. Ye Duofeng, at an altitude of 3,061 meters, is the highest peak of Wutai Mountain and the highest altitude recorded in North China. It is known as the "roof of North China". Northern Taiwan is characterized by high altitude, strong winds and thunderstorms, and extreme low temperatures of more than 40 degrees below zero in winter. 755-79,000 years: "Look up, the top of the mountain is rubbing with a bucket of water. Storms come from halfway up the mountain. Sometimes there are showers down below and the sun is shining up above . Sometimes the winds are fierce and the thunder rumbles fearfully. There's always a gale that blows people into streams and leaves." On top of the platform is built the Ling Ying Temple, which has a neat statue of Manjushri. On top of the Beiping Platform is the Black Dragon Pool, which stays dry all year round. It is not only one of the water sources for the monks at the top of the platform, but also for als
The Pagoda Temple of Wutai Mountain in Shanxi is a Buddhist temple named after a pagoda. The temple is regarded as a holy place by Buddhist believers because of the Sakyamuni Stupa, the Buddha Footprint Monument, and the hair stupa of Manjushri, the Patriarch of Wutai Mountain. Because of the beautiful shape of Sakyamuni Stupa, the Great White Pagoda of Tibet, and its location in the center of Wutai Mountain in the town of Taihuai, surrounded by temples, it has become an icon of Wutai Mountain, the first of the four major Buddhist holy places in China.
Xiantong Temple
Xiantong Temple is located in Taihuai Town. It is the largest and oldest temple in Wutai Mountain. With a long history and precious cultural relics, the temple is a pearl among the Buddhist holy places.
Pusadin
Buddha Peak, located on Lingjiu Peak in Taihuai Township, Wutai Mountain, Shanxi Province, is the first temple among the Ten Great Yellow Temples (Lama Temples) of Wutai Mountain. Because of its majestic architecture, it looks much like the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet from a distance, so people call it the Yonghe Palace.
The Pavilion of Ten Thousand Buddhas
When it comes to the temple with the most incense in Wutai Mountain, it must be Wuye Temple. In fact, Wuye Temple has an official name, which is Ten Thousand Buddhas Pavilion. Baota Temple entrance stone steps to the east, the entrance to the Ten Thousand Buddha Pavilion followed. The Buddha Pavilion is a temple of Pagoda Won Temple, covering an area of 2,000 square meters with 23 halls and buildings. There are three main buildings here, one is the Manjushri Hall, one is the Hall of the Five Dragon Kings, and the third is the ancient theater.
Los
The Snail Temple covers an area of more than 15,700 square meters, including the Flagstaff Courtyard and the Zen Temple. There are six courtyards and more than 100 houses, including 16 halls. The main buildings on the central axis are the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Hall of Manjushri, the Hall of Buddha and the Sutra Hall. There are also buildings such as the mountain gate and the guest hall. The most attractive part of the Snail Temple is the "Blooming Buddha" in the Sutra Pavilion (also known as the back hall).
Ren Guang Lama Temple
Guang Temple, one of the four major Buddhist shrines in China, is a small but tightly laid out temple in Taihuai Town in the hinterland of Shanxi's Wutai Mountain. Inside the temple, there is a collection of scriptures, "Qingliangshan Zhi", which is very precious. Guangsi Temple covers an area of 3,600 square meters and has more than 50 halls and temples. This temple has three courtyards. The first courtyard has a bell tower, a drum tower, and the main hall is the Hall of the Heavenly King; the main hall in the second courtyard is the Hall of Manjushri, also known as the Hall of Master Tsongkhapa; and the main hall in the third courtyard is called the Hall of the Great Buddha, also known as the Hall of Maitreya. This three-story courtyard is flanked by small two-story buildings where devotees from all over the world are received. So although Guangren Temple is not large, but the layout is rigorous, with a clear central axis and symmetrical allotment.
Yuanzhao Temple
In front of and above the bell tower of the Xian Temple, there is a unique passageway: along the barren hills of Lingjiu Peak, stone steps cascade and bulge from bottom to top, turning left and right. The first temple to which the stone steps lead is called Yuanzhao Temple. The temple, known as Puning Temple in ancient times, was built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty and was repaired many times in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Now it covers an area of 12,600 square meters and has more than 80 halls and buildings. The temple is located on slightly higher ground, so it looks more cheerful. Standing on the platform in front of the gate, overlooking the Xiantong Temple and Yanglin Street and looking at the Great White Pagoda is soothing.

It originated in Tibet around the 15th day of the 6th lunar month and is a major Buddhist event held annually by the Yellow Sect of Wutai Mountain.
