(1) marigold
Marigold is called stinky hibiscus here, and it smells stinky when it blooms. But marigold has a long flowering period, from June to October. Bright colors, pure yellow and orange, and they are double petals, no matter which one, they are beautiful. This is a kind of flower that we planted here when we were young. There are fewer and fewer marigold plants now.
Maintenance suggestion
Marigold has extensive management methods and is sown after Grain Rain in spring. Sprinkle some decomposed manure when sowing, and don't need fertilization during the growing period.
When marigold seedlings grow to seven or eight centimeters, they need to be replanted. When planting marigold, don't plant it too close, because marigold has strong branching ability, and planting it too close is not conducive to ventilation and light transmission, nor to growth and flowering.
(2) Zinnia
Zinnia is also called climbing step by step. The stem grows step by step, and the color is very bright. The flowering period can be as long as one month. Seeing the bright zinnia always gives people a good feeling. When I was a child, many people in the village would plant in the small yard or in front of the house. There are few races now, but we still have one here.
The planting time of zinnia is from March to May in spring. It can be bred in advance and transplanted, or it can be planted directly, which is what we often call "mother-child seedlings". After the seedlings of Zinnia are planted, we can pinch our hearts, let Zinnia grow more side branches and then bloom more flowers.
When sowing, if base fertilizer is used, there is no need for topdressing in the later growth stage. Generally, we can use decomposed manure as base fertilizer. Water the soil after drying, and drain it in rainy season.
(3) Impatiens balsamina
Impatiens, also called henna, is a favorite flower of many girls, because Impatiens are not only beautiful, but also can be used to dye nails. I believe that many flower friends used impatiens to dye their nails when they were young, that is, adding some alum and mashing it with impatiens is pure natural nail polish.
The cultivation methods of impatiens are also extensive. As long as you sow in spring, beautiful flowers will bloom in summer. If planted densely, the stems of impatiens will be shorter, and if planted sparsely, the branches will grow longer. At the seedling stage, it is necessary to constantly remove the top, and the plant type of impatiens will become more and more round, and then impatiens like lollipops will be expelled.
Impatiens pollen is poisonous. When planting impatiens, don't plant it with vegetables to prevent pollen from falling to the ground, which will lead to toxic components in vegetables and affect our health.
(4) Mirabilis jalapa
Mirabilis jalapa is also called Leihua because its seeds look like mines. Although it looks like a mine, peeling off the seed coat of Mirabilis jalapa will reveal white seeds, which can be used to make rouge, so it is also called pink beans. Every evening, Mirabilis jalapa will have colorful flowers. Some mirabilis jalapa trees will have different colors of flowers, so some places are called five-color plums. Now there are fewer and fewer mirabilis jalapa, which can be said to be rare.
The planting time of Mirabilis jalapa is also in spring, so it needs thinning when planting, because the branches of Mirabilis jalapa grow very long. If the planting is too dense, it is not conducive to the ventilation and light transmission of mirabilis jalapa, and it is also not conducive to flowering.
(5) Jiangxi wax
Jiangxi wax, also called Cuiju, is an annual herbaceous flower. Its leaves are like chrysanthemums, and the flowers are double. After hours, most of them are pink and some are purple. I want to plant seeds from my neighbor's house. There will be many flowers in autumn, which are very beautiful.
Jiangxi wax seeds are as light and small as dandelion seeds. Pay attention when planting, otherwise it will be easily blown away by the wind. During the growing period, the branches are brittle, and the flowers are too big to fall down easily, so we should add decomposed manure when planting.
When I was a child, I often raised six kinds of flowers at home, which were very easy to raise and beautiful. We seldom see them now. Besides what Sister Rong said above, there are many varieties, such as cockscomb, hollyhock, fairy wand and so on, which are rare up to now.
