Besides the Olympics, there's another concern - the Golden Week has been shortened, and several of China's major traditional festivals have been given official legal holidays. The fact that you can take a vacation is certainly a cause for rejoicing, but the relationship between the holiday and being on vacation has also prompted some discussion: does the holiday have to be a vacation?
I personally believe that our festivals need official holidays. The central government's implementation of the new holiday policy is more or less stimulated by the behavior of foreign countries that have seized our traditional festivals. Instead of allowing it to provoke an infinite outpouring of our nation's emotions, it is better to come up with an actual policy to make up for it. I think, no matter whether it is a traditional festival or modern festival, is a Chinese festival or foreign festivals, holiday is first of all for a kind of festival of the basic respect. Festivals and then have cultural connotations, and then have a traditional flavor, not vacation people always feel not taste. Moreover, this is also the people's hearts - people used to take special leave for the holidays in the minority. A holiday is a necessary prerequisite for a good holiday, to some extent.
But the need for a holiday does not mean that a holiday is a holiday. We look at the holiday itself, it is a cultural derivative, it has a specific meaning and special cultural connotations inherent. Over the Dragon Boat Festival is the memory of Qu Yuan, over the Qingming Festival is the memory of ancestors or the yearning for spring, while the Labor Day is the respect for the vast number of working people, the National Day is the sense of belonging to the country, the national pride of the promotion of ...... to say that there are a whole lot more. Formal festivals have these special connotations, we have to make a special effort to "over". But now some people are focusing on "vacation or no vacation" - sometimes even I can not help but think so. I know we all work hard and need a break, but "vacation" is clearly not the point of these wonderful holidays. We seem to have too strong a sense of "holiday" nowadays. No wonder Mr. YANG Jinlin also lamented: "Regarding the issue of May Fourth, people are only rushing around the issue of whether to take a half-day holiday or a one-day holiday, which has diluted many of the 'May Fourth' festivals!
Vacation for the holiday, in fact, is to provide us with the objective conditions to live this festival. In the Spring Festival, some people write couplets, put up New Year's paintings, cut the windowpane, and can the picture of a family guessing riddles and telling New Year's stories after the New Year's Eve dinner be reproduced? Can people's understanding of the great patriotic poets be deepened during the Dragon Boat Festival? Do we cherish the moments of family reunion when the moon is full in the Mid-Autumn Festival? The law gives us a holiday, we no longer have to study and work busy and ignore the value of these festivals as an excuse. Holidays give us time, we should fully appreciate the holiday, rather than sleep, surfing the Internet to fill these long-awaited days. With the holiday, is to let us correctly recognize the holiday, rather than "Labor Day does not labor".
Festivals need to be holidays, but they are far from empty and thin like ordinary holidays. I think everyone who benefits from the new holiday policy should not forget that.
Mid-Autumn Festival
In a few days it will be Mid-Autumn Festival. Tonight, the moonlight is like silver, I sit alone on the balcony under the petunia arbor, a cup of tea, a book of thin words. Qinghui like water, in my shirt quietly flow ......
Can not help but think of home to come.
Hometown of the Mid-Autumn Festival is lively, comfortable. Every family has to measure a colander of new glutinous rice to make "mochi". Steamed glutinous rice, poured into the bamboo basket, the family early break farm work, in the river pond clean feet of mud, fixing the glutinous rice basket over. Pounding glutinous rice balls is usually done on the sunbathing ground. During the day, incandescent lamps were pulled up under the eaves of the house, and cucumber racks and clothes poles were pulled up wherever they could be. The stone mortar, which was sleeping in the corner, was brought out, and the wooden wedges pounded the fragrant glutinous rice balls, which were smooth and tender. That pounding wedge are strong men, there are also body pole lean, rosy-cheeked like shrimp old man. Squatting on the side, running their hands into the stone mortar are women. The woman's arm rolled sleeve, not white, summer busy sunshine season, black oily. Oily hands in the white glutinous rice ball tumbling, like loach lubrication. Men's backs are bare, sweat like water generally flow, smooth and bright, clear light piece. They sidestepped a horse stance, hands wheeled up the wedge, front leg knee stretching and bending, the foot plate "humming and puffing," stepping on the rhythm, it is simply a dance. The beautiful sound of "huffing and puffing" attracted many spectators. The spectators were sitting, squatting, or leaning against the surrounding low wall stacks in groups of three or five. The women were talking about their families, comparing the freshness of their clothes; the men were talking about their crops, comparing the goodness of their rice harvest; the children did not miss this good opportunity, chasing and playing with their guts. When one family has finished pounding, the next family is already waiting for them. People praise the man's good bones, praise the woman's glutinous rice cooking fragrance, praise this cucumber pitchfork climbed high, praise that the field of the late grain seedling under the early under the green ......
I was boarding in a middle school not far away at that time. The middle school is located on a flat hilltop on the banks of the Fenglin River and was originally a nunnery, which people used to call "Nannanan". Every Mid-Autumn Festival, I would always look forward to the end of the evening study period and run all the way along the mountain road in the bright moonlight. Or take a shortcut along the water's edge, listening to the thrilling clamor of the waterfalls and the ding-dong of the brooks, and then crossing the fields to the joyful light, where you can share a mouthful of the freshest and most fragrant "mochi".
More interesting is fishing. It was a children's game. We were all fourteen or fifteen years old at the time. The moonlight, white sand like a cushion. The fog had not yet come up. Frogs were croaking in the rice fields and ponds. We put on our fishing nets and bamboo baskets and set off. Below the field was the sandy area along the Fenglin River, where bamboo rafts lay one after another. We chose a wide and big one and pushed it down the stream together. My cousins held the poles, while my cousin was in charge of casting the nets. I was a novice, so I sat back and watched. The moon broke and shattered in the water, like a pool of jade shavings immersed in the clear waves. On both sides are black and lush fields, quiet villages, stagnant stretches of towering mountains. A fresh breeze slid gently against our cheeks.
We crossed the stream to open our nets. Then, avoiding a spot of slow-moving water, we lie on the raft and listen to my sister sing. When I was a child, my sister was a passionate actor, and recruited a few playmates about the same age to set up a stage in front of her house, and many people actually came to see her! I still remember the song she sang, "Good Mountains, Good Water, Good Scenery". The sweet and clear voice broke through the silence of the water and the moonlight, and blew on our hearts like a fresh breeze. Then, it was my brother who started the ghost trick. The moon reflected the waves, the mist was faint, and it seemed like an inhuman place. My brother's "ghosts and monsters" appeared. There was a beach where many people had drowned, and the ghosts appeared one after another! They catch children! --This beach is here! My cousin cried out in fear, and we screamed at him to get out of there. My brother suddenly got carried away and laughed "hahahahahaha", holding his stomach and leaning back and forth.
It was late at night and we were closing the nets. The net pulled up, heavy. Large and small fish, like a treasure like one after another was packed into the fish basket, totaling no less than half a basket. So, the next two days, there will be a few bowls of fresh color on the dinner table. Auntie with chili peppers, garlic braised, do not put soy sauce, put is the bowl of freshly sun-dried June sauce, especially fragrant and sweet. We four teenagers, see this "fruit of the labor", all like a cat, without two meals, to solve, my brother is eating fish without spitting bones.
After studying at the university, teaching students, every reading of "Red Cliff Fugue", "the moon above the East Mountain, wandering between the bulls. The white dew across the river, the light of the water to the sky. As a reed of the, Ling Wanqin of the blank. Hao Hao like the virtual wind, and do not know where to stop; floating like the world of independence, feathered and ascended to immortality", will miss those years. It has been fifteen years since I left my hometown, and I don't have that kind of landscape and moonlight entertainment anymore. I'm not sure if I've ever had a good time, but I'm sure I've had a good time, and I'm sure I've had a good time, and I'm sure I've had a good time.
So I'm glad I had such a wonderful youth. I have a book of my teacher's lyrics at hand, one of which records the scene of fishing on a moonlit night in '82 under the "Nan Nananan":
Fishing Songs*Guanyin Fishing
The bright moon filled the beach with water flashes, and two people hurriedly opened their fishing fires. The heron breaks into the stream, the fish in the basket are in a panic, and the fishermen are busy asking for wine and cooking.
The end of the lyrics made a detailed note, the cloud building stone cofferdam to touch the hole to catch fish, hands joined palms to make the shape of Goddess of Mercy, so called "Goddess of Mercy fishing". The teacher of this filler is a generation of hometown after the famous doctor, county records are made in detail. I transferred back to my hometown halfway through school and had the honor of being his closed disciple. I remember once wrote a fishing composition, he called me to go, gently smiling, asked me is true? I rattled my throat and answered with certainty: It's true. He then smiled even more broadly. He said, the moonlight night, the fish is not much, much less jump out of the water by themselves. Only later did I realize that he not only his own fishing, farming, picking tea can also design the house with his own hands, build a model, masonry, healing, poetry, lyrics, essays, painting, paper-cutting, but also everything is not good. Even retired, in order to solve the spring floods and summer droughts, but also for the village planning, construction of water conservancy. Can be taught by such a teacher, is not three lifetimes lucky? Especially his character as a person, more like the clear light of the full moon, let a person breathtaking.
Now, twenty years have passed. Fenglin Stream is no longer a huge soup, the upper reaches of a few power stations, the water is shallow, the flow is slow, the river is thin. I'm not sure if you're going to be able to get a good deal on the way to the next level. It's been almost fifteen years since my cousin's untimely death. The teacher was also involved in an automobile accident, head damaged, fortunately picked up a life, but still always remember me. During the day, a phone call back to ask brother and sister aunt and uncle can be good. Sister said, thin, people are thin, busy processing plant production management. I'm not sure if you're going to be able to get a good deal on a new product, but I'm sure you're going to be able to get a good deal on a new product, and I'm sure you're going to be able to get a good deal on a new product.
So I knew that I could only sit on the balcony and think in vain. I think, maybe one day, we are old, all leisure, can stop down, have completed their own for the human son for the human daughter for the human father for the human mother's responsibility, perhaps, one night, we will still push down a big and wide raft, singing all the way to the light song, swinging in the phoenix forest stream, right!
The night is cool, the moon is already in the middle of the sky. I'd better go inside! The bright moon knows, it should fulfill this dream for me!
Ching Ming Reverie
There is a flurry of rain at the time of the Qingming Festival, and the pedestrians on the road want to break their souls.
Where can I find a tavern? The shepherd boy is pointing to the village of apricot blossoms.
Diffuse mourning, long sadness, in this cold festival, confused thoughts such as wisps of cool wind blowing to the apricot blossom village outside. Behind the store of the wine family, must be a desolate grave, where stands the soul of the nation. The misty rain, like smoke, puts a layer of sadness and soul-sucking elegance on this bleak festival.
Thoughts fluttered, arriving at the immortal embankment on the Miluo River, listening to Qu Daifu's low lament: "Also the good of the remaining heart, although nine deaths and not regret!" The world is cold, the rule of darkness, dirty reality can not accommodate Qu Yuan's straight body, only the Miluo River waves can read the Qu doctor's porous heart.
"Sadness is not sad to be parted, joy is not happy to know each other", people use the Dragon Boat Festival to pay tribute to Qu Yuan, but in this clear and lonely festival, and who is going to listen to Qu Yuan's beating heart?
The river, roaring is not heroic, not passionate, is sad, is mournful, is for Qu Yuan, a generation of national soul passed away and played the elegy. Dragon Boat Festival, celebration is not the fault of the people. Miluo River, the dragon boat whisked through the water, people's shouts and cheering and Qu Yuan threw himself into the river of the desolate sadness of a strong contrast. The festivities do not belong to Qu Yuan, and only the melancholy of the Qingming Festival is enough to soothe the departed soul.
"The green cloud clothes are white, and the long bow is used to shoot the wolf." Green shirt and white clothes, this is the attire of Qingming, is the color of loyalty. There is no sound of firecrackers in the Spring Festival, no bright moon in the Mid-Autumn Festival, and no lanterns and colors in the Lantern Festival. Qingming this special holiday, there are burning ash, incense, tears, is the face of the deep vault of the most sincere, most sincere remembrance and prayers.
Ching Ming, belonging to the loyalty of Yue Fei, belonging to the Tiger Gate smoke Lin Zexu, belonging to the red-blooded heart of Wen Tianxiang - eight hundred miles, pioneering and enterprising is the inexhaustible power; thirty merits, the country and the nation is the inextinguishable sentiment.
Retracting thoughts, standing in front of the tomb of the ancestors, I burn a pillar of incense for the backbone of the Chinese nation. Qingming Festival, you are the immortal loyal soul!
The festival of the soul
The colorfulness of the flowers, the fading of the leaves, and even the fall of a drop of dew can trigger infinite feelings, so what about the festival?
Three thousand years of chewing, those festivals, has long ceased to be a simple day, it is tied to the emotions of a nation, is a nation beating heart.
"The rain falls during the Qingming Festival, and the pedestrians on the road want to break their souls," which emphasizes a nation's mourning for the deceased; "But I wish the people to be long, thousands of miles of **** Canyuanjuan," which interprets a nation's longing for a reunion.... ...
The Dragon Boat Festival, a festival that has lasted for two thousand years? Perhaps in your mind, the Dragon Boat Festival is the ethereal Qu Yuan, dense rice dumplings, the vast dragon boat. But when you think of that "from the combination of the King of Chu, horizontal into the Qin Emperor" era, think of the face of the withered, chanting the river Chu Daifu, think of the "Li Sao", "nine chapters", "Tianwen", think of patriotism and love of the people, cynicism, would rather die than give in to the ...... you just suddenly realized that! I'm not sure if I'm right, but I'm wrong. It turns out that the dumplings sunk to the bottom of the river is precisely the accumulation of national culture, that chi in the river dragon boat to lift up is the soul of the fiery.
The Dragon Boat Festival, the festival of the soul - the accumulation of culture, the memorial of the nation, lasted two thousand years!
One night more than a thousand years ago, the lonely city of Chang'an was lit up by lanterns. On this night, feudal society seemed to be free of hierarchical strictness, and the tightly closed imperial city was opened for the Lantern Festival, so that even humble courtesans could enjoy the bustle of Chang'an's streets. In the night market, the lanterns were equally dazzling in the eyes of princes, nobles and commoners of the cloth!
The Tang Dynasty - an unattainable height, the heyday of feudal society, symbolizing openness, tolerance and prosperity, is the pride of the Chinese nation. In order for this page of history not to be barren and forgotten, tonight, the lanterns in Chang'an City are so bright, showing the open-mindedness of the Chinese nation!
The Lantern Festival, the festival of the heart - the yearning for equality and the openness of the nation, subverts the corrupt feudal dynasty!
When more and more people began to appreciate Christmas, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving Day and other "foreign festivals", please do not easily sigh foreign pandering, people's hearts and minds, the world is going down the drain, we must know that this is a display of the Chinese nation's tolerance of foreign cultures and acceptance of the manifestation of a nation of generosity.
Every festival is a national heart beat, is a national soul sublimation.
Festivals, festivals of the heart!
Pleasant Spring Festival
Today, listening to my mother-in-law said tomorrow to take me to the market, I was happy to smile, jumped three feet high, like a happy bunny, could not help but shouted: "Oh, mother-in-law is really good to me!" Granny busy said: "Hey hey hey, don't jump, don't jump, you don't happy too early, I say in front of the ugly words, to catch the market is to get up early, you can get up to go, can't get up to go, don't go, to catch the market of the crowd and messy, you may get lost!" I muttered, "Aiya, granny, the market is only held once every four days, it's hard to get a chance, so don't spoil my fun, let me go." "Fine, fine, get up early tomorrow", Granny said as she scratched my nose.
In the evening, I lay in bed, thinking about the market tomorrow, so excited that I could hardly sleep. Early the next morning, I cheerfully shook my mother-in-law, who was still asleep, and said, "Good mother-in-law, get up, have you forgotten that we are going to the fair today?" "Don't bother me, what time is it?" Granny sleepily pulled out her watch from under her pillow, I saw that it was only 5:00 a.m., so I apologized and helped granny lie down, saying, "I'm sorry, I won't bother you, I'm just too excited to go to the market earlier, you sleep a little longer, I can't sleep anymore, I have to get up." "Hoo-hoo", this fixed eyes, ha, mother-in-law and like a child immersed in dreamland ......
After half an hour, we freshened up and set off with a basket each. When we arrived at the street, I called out: "Wow, only the road early, more early pedestrian ah. It's only a little after six o'clock, and the street is already crowded with people, a sea of people, a sea of cars, a bustle of people, and a flood of people. Granny said, "Don't make a fuss, mind your image." "I'm sorry, I've never seen such a crowded scene so early in the morning, and I used five idioms to describe the large number of cars and people at once, so I'm out of order." "Hurry up, we can't afford to be left behind", said my mother-in-law with a smile on her face. So, we joined the rush, not to be outdone. In a short while, our basket will be almost full, at this time, we walked to a place, only to see a lot of people surrounded by three layers inside and three layers outside, we curiously walked over, the mother-in-law had no trouble to inquire about the original is to sell green onions, because of the price is cheap, only one yuan a catty, so it attracted a lot of people to buy green onions, the mother-in-law saw it is also moved, but she is because of the heart of the wide body fat, then told me to squeeze into the pile of people, I said: I said: "This is not good, right, do so is after all not civilized and polite performance ah." Granny said anxiously: "It's okay, catching the market is 'catching the rush' of the harmony, meaning not only to get up early, but also to buy fast, fast squeeze in it. I know that "mother-in-law's order is difficult to disobey", then a clever idea, made a small carving, I first squeezed in, after a few minutes will be empty-handed, said to my mother-in-law: "too many people, almost shoe to shoe, I can not get", said his own can not help but laugh, can be! I don't know if it's because my mother-in-law has supernormal capabilities or what, after I finished talking, she actually guessed my mind, touched my head and said: "I see, it's not that you can't get it, but you don't want to grab it with other people". I stuck out my tongue. My mother-in-law said, "Since you don't want to grab it with others, let's queue up". When we had bought the green onions, we hurried off to the market where the meat was sold. After a while, I suddenly felt that something was missing and stared carefully at my mother-in-law: ah, I lost a basket! "This is bad, the basket is lost, granny!" "What, the basket is missing?" The granny was also astonished. "I thought you had it." I whispered. "I thought you had it all along? Think quickly, where could you have lost it?" My mother-in-law was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan - running around in circles. "It's probably at the onion seller's, let's go back and look for it", I said hopelessly. "Forget it, it's useless, surely we can't find it", said the mother-in-law. "Better believe it than not, there are still more good people", I said firmly, "Let's go and have a look". Granny finally agreed, we immediately "whip" rushed to the place of selling green onions, only to see this time only the boss's wife stood there alone, in front of the end of our basket, the boss's wife warmly said: "is not your basket, in my here, I see, immediately on behalf of you! I see, immediately on behalf of you to keep good, the vegetables are not less, all in the basket", said the basket was handed to my mother-in-law, my mother-in-law and I kept saying "thank you, thank you", she saw the basket is almost full, the vegetables are about to fall, and then graciously took out two new plastic bags for us to put the vegetables in the plastic bags. Seeing the boss's wife so warm, kind, I seem to see the new year's good hope, people live in peace with each other, how good.
After returning to my mother-in-law's house, I couldn't help but think about the changes in the countryside: the countryside has changed a lot, everyone's life is better, and the social atmosphere has also changed, it's really great!
The legacy of Chinese New Year culture is that the eight steeds have been passing on the news, and the five sheep are jumping to show new pictures.
Flower red peach color, kumquat full plate, joyful Chinese children horse to the Year of the Goat, the Spring Festival every year, this year the festival is not ordinary. As the saying goes, "the common change at any time", the Spring Festival customs inherited, evolved to today, in the form and content of many changes, looking back, each era has its own style:
50's New Year's Eve dinner: a few kilograms of meat to eat a few days of fast life
60's dashing: in the vast world of New Year's
Entertainment in the 80s: watching the Spring Festival Gala
New Year's greetings in the 90s: good health comes first
Modern society is even more fancy, a few years of a kind, pager New Year's greetings, telephone blessings, text messages, restaurant New Year's Eve dinners, and traveling for the New Year. But this is, after all, a small number of fashion trendsetter's good show, the public's voice is, the more the year over the more light. But no, this should be the result of natural selection. The first is the rapid changes in social life, so that some very important Spring Festival folklore is facing a crisis. Celebrating the harvest, offering sacrifices to ancestors and exorcising ghosts are the soul of the Spring Festival. Nowadays people, especially the new generation in the city, not only get rid of farming, but also far away from the patriarchal family, the significance of the Spring Festival harvest celebration and ancestor worship has disappeared, people now believe in science and technology, and are not afraid of ghosts and respect for God, and the exorcism of ghosts is also canceled. Year-keeping, it is the core of the annual festival. If even it is omitted, then it will definitely affect the status of the New Year Festival, will weaken the people's festival mentality, so that people feel that the festival is not much different from the regular day, it will affect the festival's inheritance. The original meaning of the festival was to pray for a long life, but now that people have lost this belief, they are less willing to stay up all night. However, there is nothing wrong with treating the "New Year's Eve" as a sleepless night of the year, when we can chat, talk, have fun, summarize the past, and think about the future together.
Second, radicalism has been prevalent in China's mainstream culture since the 20th century. They have pitted modernization against tradition, science against faith, and are anti-traditional and anti-religious; as a result, many traditional and faith-based elements of Spring Festival folklore have been destroyed. For example, the first day of the Gregorian calendar is called "New Year", while the traditional calendar New Year is renamed the Spring Festival, diluting and blurring the meaning of "New Year" in the Spring Festival. So much so that some people want to abolish the Spring Festival and replace it with a solar year.
Third, the introduction of foreign festivals and cultures have had an impact on the traditional Chinese New Year. Material enjoyment of the Spring Festival atmosphere faded on the side of the main spiritual enjoyment of the Western festivals flourish, the personalization of modern life and diversity, but also the need for diverse festivals. People at different levels can get pleasure from those festivals. The more diversified, the local inherent culture should be the most attractive, a nation's permanence, first of all, lies in its cultural nativeness. The more the local nature is strengthened and internalized, the more his dominant position can be highlighted.
Fourth, nowadays, the shortening of the usual working day and the increase of rest and recreation time make New Year's Eve no longer the main or even the only time for rest and recreation. Urban people have basically solved the problem of food and clothing, and no longer waiting for New Year's dinner, wearing new clothes, visiting relatives, but the mental pressure to seek liberation, thinking about where to go to play, what to play, how to play?
The times continue to give the Spring Festival new content, the times also continue to give it new challenges, different times, although the content of the new, but the basic form and theme has always remained unchanged, "the wind and rain, the five grains, the six animals prosper, the country and the people in peace," the Spring Festival has a strong vitality and cohesion of the nation's It is the expression of the strong vitality and national cohesion of the Spring Festival. No matter how much it has changed, its deeper meaning of blessing good fortune has not changed. The custom of family reunion at the Spring Festival has been passed down to this day, and people, no matter how hard and tired they are, must have a good time in those days of the Spring Festival, which is the need for individual physiological adjustment, as well as the need for psychological adjustment and adjustment of social relations. Whether it's traveling for Chinese New Year, surfing the Internet for Chinese New Year, or having a party for Chinese New Year, what people seek is still communication between people. People at the same time in a roughly similar way to make generally consistent choices, is an individual's needs, but also the needs of society and the needs of the nation.
The inheritance of a folklore requires a folklore mentality and a social living environment. When the social living environment has changed, people's way of life has changed, the folklore psychology is bound to change. However, this psychological change is not as fast as social change, and requires a long time of integration with the new way of life. The Spring Festival as a folklore, in the development of society gradually get rid of the agricultural dominance and move to a higher level, go and stay is purely natural selection, and can not be man-made intervention, and its retention will also be the most vital.
Every era for the Spring Festival to add a new charm, painted with new colors, we are in a great era of comprehensive rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, naturally, should be for the Spring Festival this ancient festival to add light and color, because folklore should be the people in the life of the people spontaneously formed and inherited to reflect the cultural aspirations of the people. Only when we find a point of convergence between maintaining traditions and accepting modern lifestyles will we be able to construct a new national cultural system, that is, in the process of keeping up with the times, passing on our Spring Festival culture, strengthening its local character, and then marching to the world to make it a festival of joy for people all over the world!
The Spring Festival
Whenever I see photos and programs of people celebrating the Spring Festival, I can't help but think of a silly thing I did on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year.
The first five days of the year, also known as the "broken five", is the meaning of sending the year, the traditional sending of the year to eat dumplings, and dumplings should be wrapped with money, dates, sugar, each wrapped on six. The meaning is: if you eat dumplings with money, the year will be rich; if you eat dumplings with jujube, the year will be good luck; if you eat dumplings with sugar, the year will be "sweet" and the family will be in harmony. 6 is an auspicious number. Although this is only an expectation for the New Year, our family still carries on this tradition.
On the fifth night of the month, we ate dumplings to celebrate the new year. When my father was eating the first dumpling, I heard a "thump", and the first money was eaten by my father, and he smiled proudly. At that moment, mom followed dad's example and said, "Guess if there is something in this dumpling?" I thought: mom always loves to joke. Confidently, I said, "No!" As a result, the first piece of candy was eaten by mom again. Now I was the only one who hadn't eaten anything yet! I was very anxious. Finally, I ate 20 dumplings, only ate 3 pieces of sugar, mom ate 25 dumplings, ate 4 money, 2 pieces of sugar, dad ate 30 dumplings, ate 2 money, 1 piece of sugar and 3 jujubes, and now there are only 10 dumplings left, I'm not willing to lag behind and think: there must be 3 jujubes in the 10 dumplings, although, I've already eaten a lot of food, but I can't resist the temptation of the date dumplings. I rubbed my stomach and couldn't help but eat two more dumplings, but I still didn't get any date dumplings. I looked at my dad and mom, who are always competitive, and they were leisurely eating other dishes, as if they didn't care whether I ate the remaining 3 dates or not. I didn't care and ate another 5 dumplings, but still no date dumplings. I began to wonder if they had already eaten the remaining 3 dates. I looked at their "loot" and saw that they didn't have much. At that moment, they all came together to pick up these 3 dumplings, I watched their movements and thought: the last 3 dates must be in these 3 dumplings! I quickly picked up the chopsticks and picked up the three dumplings and sent them to my mouth, and when I bit into them, there was no date. At that moment, my father smiled and said, "There is still a plate of dumplings in the kitchen." I ran to the kitchen and saw that there was indeed a plate of dumplings that had not been cooked, and I regretted it. It just so happened that the 3 dates just weren't in the 10 dumplings.
Whenever I think of this incident, I will always remind myself that no matter what I do, I have to be thoughtful and not act blindly.
