Jiangmen Technician College, founded in 1963, is one of the earliest public technical schools in the province. The college is located in the beautiful Xijiang River and Pengjiang River in the center of Jiangmen, with a campus area of about 387 mu. There are two campuses, North Street and Chaolian, and Tanghe new campus is under construction. There are five teaching departments, including the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Modern Service, the Department of Information Technology, the Department of Automobile Engineering and the Department of Advanced Manufacturing. There are 32 majors with students 10000. The college is divided into three teaching levels: advanced department, intermediate department and training department. Over the past 60 years, the college has become a national comprehensive vocational education and training base integrating teaching, scientific research, production, training, appraisal, information and employment services.
The college is the first batch of national key technical schools, technician colleges, national high-skilled personnel training bases, integrated teaching reform demonstration units and national secondary vocational education reform and development demonstration schools. It was awarded "National Advanced Employment Unit" by the State Council twice, and "National Demonstration Point of Staff Education and Training" by All-China Federation of Trade Unions. The College is the first national vocational college authorized by "T_V Rheinland" to be a welding training and examination center, the first vocational college in Jiangmen to introduce the German "dual system" school-running mode, the Jiangmen China-Europe High-skilled Talents Training Demonstration College, and the Jiangmen Entrepreneurship and Innovation College. Known as "Whampoa Military Academy", the College is "a banner of Guangdong technical education" on the industrial front of Jiangmen's hometown of overseas Chinese.
