After arriving in Yining, Xinjiang? We've been running around the hundreds of miles around Yining in our Maple Leaf Travel's BMW X3. We have enjoyed the stunning beauty of the Sayram Lake and the shocking Tekes Bagua City, but we remembered that we haven't yet had a good taste of the city of Yining.
When you have traveled more, driving far enough, you will find that the scenery and food sometimes appear a kind of uniform feeling!
Because if you are just pursuing the beauty of the journey, driving far enough has its day of aesthetic fatigue and exhaustion. If you want to stay fresh on your journey, you must explore the unique charm of each city around you, such as experiencing the life of the locals, and feeling the local, seasonal, and prevailing humanistic customs.
There is a sign on the highway near Yining that says: "There is a good place in China called Xinjiang, and there is a good place in Xinjiang called Yining. It can be seen that the beauty of Yining is enough for us to enjoy. So, you need to calm down and take a good stroll around the city of Yining.
In Yining city, there is a folk village called Kazanqi. Because of its blue and white decoration style, it is particularly hot on various social media platforms, and is also affectionately known as "small Morocco", "Oriental Santorini". If you want to feel the local humanistic characteristics of Yining, this is the right choice.
At the entrance of Kazanqi Folk Village, a flock of pigeons, many of which are raised by the residents around the village, will hover for years. If you want to experience a scene like in a TV drama, cozying up in a square somewhere in Europe and feeding pigeons? Then Kazanchi is not a bad choice. It is almost impossible to go abroad to feed pigeons this year, but you can also experience this romantic scene in Yining.
This place has become a tourist attraction, but it still retains a large number of aboriginal people and even has several schools. The residential houses along the street are all sky-blue gates and fences, and have a real Little Morocco feel to them.
I caught a glimpse of a hut with the door open, and out ran a child munching on an apple, probing for his sister hidden behind the wall...I couldn't help but capture this lovely scene, they are living the happiest of days at a carefree age, and a lollipop is the source of their happiness for the whole day.
What's particularly different from other big cities in China is that all the people gathered in the square are men! At first, we were too shy to take pictures of them, but as a tourist attraction, the residents are used to tourists from all over the world, and they are not surprised to see us carrying a camera and taking pictures of them, and some of them even smiled at the camera.
We also ran into a group of students taking a break at noon in the square, and they were all polite and well-spoken. It seems that the local moral education in Xinjiang is still very much in place, and the schools are teaching in multiple languages.
That's the most interesting thing about the trip, learning what kind of life the locals lead? What are their habits like? This is a topic that you will never get tired of even if you go farther.
Lunch time, we found a snack bar near Kazanchi school and had a satisfying meal. Because according to years of experience in traveling by car, the food underneath residential buildings and near schools is usually cheap and delicious, and sure enough the facts proved this tried and true experience once again.
Two of us ordered a noodle dish, a beef meatball soup, five skewers of beef and a naan. The beef skewers were not as good as the ones in Yining Hanjian Street, the meat was definitely fresh, but the marinade was almost interesting, but it worked. The best thing about the pasta is that the locals order the most pasta, which costs 12 dollars a piece, and you can add more pasta for free if you don't have enough, so it's very tasty and affordable.
But this Kazanqi Folk Village is still a bit different from what I imagined. After all, it has been touted as a must-visit place by many travel magazines, but when you really come here, you realize that the buyer's show and the seller's show are still different. The most obvious point is that, probably because of the epidemic, a long time without a large number of tourists to come here, resulting in a lot of stores along the street are closed, not inevitably much colder.
If you come to Yining Kazanqi Folk Village, we suggest you wait for the epidemic to subside and tourism to slowly recover, and then wait for all the stores along the street to reopen, I believe that the experience here will be much better.
If Kazanqi is a journey of experience, then Six Star Street is a culinary journey. Compared with Kazanqi, which retains its original humanistic flavor, Six Star Street is more like a game of petit bourgeoisie, with the entire street environment created in a clean and comfortable way, and along the street is a must-hit coffee shop and dessert store.
The first famous gourmet store is called Leba Bakery, which is a kind of Russian bread, affectionately known as "big Leba" in Northeast China. Compared to other flavors of the diversity of bread, this big Lebas although the taste can not keep up with the public taste, but the flavor of the ingredients is more intense, not easy to get fat but also help digestion, also won a place. Six Star Street, this Lebas is even more flavorful, and gradually became one of the must-hit store, the unit price of 20 dollars a.
The second must hit the card store is an ice cream store called Gulandam, the decoration style is very easy to film, with a small sister to come here can spend half a day. The whole decoration is very dreamy, the most beautiful scene outside in the open air, take pictures here, and you'll have no problem dominating your circle of friends that night!
Of course, without real products this store can not be so hot. Their most noteworthy or 9.9 ice cream. And! All the little toppings on the ice cream are free! You can add whatever you want and as much as you want, so I y doubt that the owner will be doing business at a loss.
There are actually a lot more stores worth hitting on Six Star Street, but unfortunately they were all closed when we arrived. Tourists dropped off dramatically after the National Day, not to mention the fact that the epidemic hasn't quite ended and the tourist economy hasn't really recovered yet. But just wandering around the street, Six Star Street, you can find quite a lot of fun. For example, a variety of colorful wall shooting locations, such as the local very ethnic square dance.
Compared with Kazanqi, Sixth Street actually seems to be more peaceful and free, you can find a petty cafe, sit leisurely for an afternoon, take a picture of the flowers in the crowd, and nag with the locals, looking at their sincere smiles is also not lost in a kind of beauty!
This day, we and the BMW X3 didn't go too far, but the exotic atmosphere we felt in Yining, and the happy smiles of the residents of various ethnic groups, may have warmed up your driving mood more than the beautiful scenery we saw after driving hundreds of kilometers.
