Beyond the Dream

----------------------------- Huayu Newcomer: Yang Zhucheng

In 2011, the Chinese version of "Mamma Mia" played the role of Roxie Yang Zhucheng was born in Jiangxi Province, a brother and sister, and his parents are both from Shandong. At a time when the interests of the motherland were paramount, her parents, who were civil servants, had little right to choose their own careers and destinations. Despite their love of literature and sports, they never had much of a chance to make a name for themselves.

"When I was a kid, my parents used to sing songs at home, mostly Soviet songs, such as 'Little Way' and 'Cranberry Blossom'. There were also interludes from Albanian movies, the titles of which I can't remember."

"My parents also liked painting, Chinese painting, brushwork. Also liked to play soccer." Bamboo Green recalled childhood memories.

Who would have thought that twenty years later, Bamboo Green's performance of the musical The Ghost of the Opera House episode THAT IS ALL I ASK OF YOU at the POPS concert organized by the Central Orchestra would make her parents smile with relief, and remind them of the time when they were listening to The Little Way. that cute doll face. With the popularity of the song "Xianlin Qingmei" on TV, followed by its wide circulation on the Internet, it made them relive the warmth and mellowness of "Cranberry Blossom". Rather than a handover of youth, it is a continuation of hope.

Bamboo Green's talent for literature and sports gradually emerged during her primary and secondary school years. She learned gymnastics at the age of six, and then almost made the provincial gymnastics team, but because she was slender, the coach said it was not suitable for gymnastics. Unexpectedly, the provincial artistic gymnastics team saw her body and temperament, hoping to join the team, and finally gave up because her parents were worried about the impact on her studies. Although she did not enter the professional sports team, but Zhuqing is still the backbone of the school sports, middle distance running results.

Compared to sports, Zhucheng's artistic and literary talents are even more outstanding, especially in music, which is significantly higher than that of his peers. This also brought the family a new problem, that is, the direction of the personal development of Zhuqing must be early to decide. The views of Zhuqing and her parents are very different about her personal future. Bamboo Green believes that she has a foundation in music, has confidence, and is very passionate about it, so she should go to further study. The parents think, Zhuqing is studying in the provincial key high school in Jiangxi Normal University, should be examined in the university, the music as a hobby is more appropriate. On the eve of the college entrance exam, the class teacher's opinion was decisive. He thought that Zhucheng was very suitable for music work and was a piece of material, and that it would be a pity if she was not allowed to give it a try; after all, there was no shortage of university students in society, but a shortage of specialists. When the parents listened to the teacher's opinion agreed to Zhuqing enrolled in the music program, she "happy to roll in bed.

After a week of tutoring in music theory, she hurried to Beijing to take the exam. Two months later, his father was transferred to Beijing to work, and his brother had graduated from college and was assigned to work in Beijing, leaving his mother still in Jiangxi. Later, Zhuqing was admitted to the Beijing Normal University, Department of Fine Arts, majoring in vocal music, and her mother also came to Beijing, the family was finally reunited.

The process of getting into Beijing Normal University went surprisingly smoothly. "I went to Beijing in May for a retest and got the acceptance letter in July. There was no excitement, no euphoria, and I took it for granted that I would get in. In fact, this confidence in today's view, more or less with a bit of youthful simplicity and fearlessness. Later, I realized that our department only recruited seven people in the country, and I was the only one majoring in vocal music, and the candidates who came to Beijing for the reexamination amounted to more than 50 people, so the competition was quite fierce." Zhuqing said without emotion.

"My college classmates are now engaged in teaching, and I'm the only one in the class who is out of the education line. In theory, I should also go into the education sector, but as soon as I graduated, I was assigned to the All-China Cultural Troupe as a soloist. During the school period, I participated in many national competitions, won a lot of awards, the school may take into account that I engage in professional singing may be more promising, so in the graduation allocation did not 'card' me, the result smoothly into the professional literary and artistic groups." Bamboo Qing repeatedly said, as a national second-class actors, they can have today's achievements, when the school's talent is not to blame, for which she always have a grateful heart.

High school teacher's advice let her into the art department, the university leadership of tolerance but let her leave the mouth of education, four years, a small cycle.

After joining the workforce for some time, Zhuqing once again returned to recharge her batteries and enrolled in the Peking University Department of Fine Arts graduate program in culture and arts management for further study.

"University age I always think music is the yangchun white snow, lofty things, but in the actual work found that the current culture and art has entered an era of mass entertainment, the commodity properties of music works can not be avoided. How to understand the inheritance and enhancement of culture, how to understand the expression and interpretation of works, this is actually a 'live, or not live?' of the question. Only with accurate market information and cultural conditions can I be guided to take less detours." Bamboo Qing talked about the original intention of further study in Peking University. Deep accumulation of bamboo Qing original clear tone more deep, more broad adaptability, hidden a confidence and composure, summarized in her own words: "voice broad or tall, these are all appearances, the song in the song in fact, outside the kung fu." She sings songs of different styles and colors in China, but also dabbles in pop, Latin style, jazz style and Western musicals, etc. It's no exaggeration to say that Zhuqing is fully capable of performing a large-scale solo concert of English songs.

In 2005, she successfully played the female lead in the musical "Golden Sands" created by the famous musician Sanbao, which was performed for more than 40 shows and widely acclaimed by all walks of life.

A famous music critic praised Zhuqing: "Her voice has a kind of ancient charm, clarity, and brightness in its bones, and floats with a strong fragrance of wine, which intoxicates those who smell it."

There is also another kind of voice: "She is a bit unrecognized. She is well known and praised in the singing circle, but the audience has heard more of her voice and seen less of her."

Bamboo Green has its own insights into this.

"The so-called 'low-profile' is not really my choice, but I prefer to live in such a practical way, engaged in their own love of the cause, there are so many friends who like my songs, which I am already contented. The most important thing I want to do now is to keep sending out good works. I have systematically studied vocal music in colleges and universities, and received formal education, and eventually chose to enter the popular singing world. Wrapped up in the tide of popularity, if I didn't have a thick accumulation and determination, I would have 'drifted' long ago. These years of persistent learning let me in today's singing world, sensible to today, thick collection of thin hair is my most appreciated state."

The green mountains are high, the clouds are long, and the flowers of Xianlin have bloomed.

Not long ago, Yang Zhuqing has signed with Beijing Huayu Tiandi Culture and Media Co. founded by famous singer Li Lingyu, which is believed to be the beginning of a win-win situation.
