In the winter of 2005, songwriter Qin Si Chaoketu came across a TV series with the theme of 3000 orphans in Shanghai. The so-called "three thousand orphans" are mainland orphans who were sent to Inner Mongolia for adoption by herders in difficult times. He was moved by the selfless love of herdsmen and the tireless thoughts of children, and he had the impulse to create. He immediately wrote down the melody of "Searching for the Soul", and then asked his good friend Nathan to write lyrics.

lyrics
The sun sets and the mountains are boundless.
The evening breeze blew through the pasture.
Looking at the distance with tearful eyes.
I can't find my mother busy.
Mom, mom
In those years of wind
Kiss me gently, kiss my face.
The stars twinkle and night falls.
The round moon hangs in the sky.
I looked at each other in my dream.
I can't see my mother's old figure
Mom, mom
In that distant place
Is your smile the same as before?
The early bird sings that dawn is coming.
The sun lit up the sky.
Time is like a long miss.
I can't see my mother's affectionate watch
Mom, mom
No matter where I drift
Your warmth will always be in my heart.
Your warmth will always be in my heart.
My mother
My mother
