Where is the "Xinghua Village" in the famous poem Qingming by the Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu?

The author understands through consulting the materials that the disputes about the ownership of Xinghua Village are mainly concentrated in three places, namely Fenyang, Lvliang City, Shanxi Province, Guichi, Chizhou City, Anhui Province, and Fengxian, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province.

Looking through Du Mu Yearbook compiled by historian Miao Yue, the author did not find Du Mu's footprint in Shanxi. Du Mu spent two years in Chizhou. As the supreme ruler of Chizhou, he didn't go to the wilderness to find wine in the rain. If this poem was written by Du Mu on his way from Huangzhou, Hubei Province to Chizhou, Anhui Province, that is, in September of the fourth year of Huichang, it is inconsistent with Tomb-Sweeping Day in time.

Du Mu has passed Fengxian County of Jiangsu Province three times, but Fengxian County has only one "Zhangxing Village" since ancient times, and has never produced wine. Due to insufficient evidence, three "Xinghua Village" with high voices were not selected. So, is the "Xinghua Village" in Du Mu's poems true or false? The author seems to have found the answer in the process of reading Tang poetry and Song poetry.

"Xinghua Village" is a very common word in Tang and Song poetry. "Xinghua Village, Xinghua Village, Huayang Village, Xinghua Village, Lang Hua Village, etc." and "Xinghua Village, Huayang Village, Lang Hua Village, etc.", in which "Xinghua Village" generally refers to the village where apricot flowers are in full bloom. Similar to the painting method of Xinghua Village, Huangye Village, Lvyang Village, Chrysanthemum Village, Weihua Village and Sunset Village are more common.

After careful tasting, the artistic conception of these villagers is not worse than that of "Xinghua Village". However, due to Du Mu's reputation and the word "wine" in his poems, the trademark and ownership of "Xinghua Village" will cause heated debates. It is reported that Fenyang Winery and Guichi Winery have filed lawsuits against the trademark of Xinghua Village. Macheng, Hubei and Nanjing, Jiangsu also insisted on their ownership of Xinghua Village. A villager in Anyang City, Henan Province even referred to "Xingyuan Village Wine" as "Xinghua Village Wine".

This kind of argument and lawlessness, while making people feel ridiculous and hateful, also reflects some China people's one-sided understanding of ancient poetry. The ancients wrote poetry, paying attention to implication and avoiding directness. Especially in terms of village names and place names, they often use natural landscapes, humanistic characteristics and even their own artistic conception instead. Therefore, the "apricot blossom village" in Du Mu's poems should be a village full of apricot blossoms that the poet saw or imagined.
