Song of the Seven Sons Simplified Score
Song of the Seven Sons was composed in March 1925, when Wen Yiduo was in New York. Alsace-Lorraine in its preface translates as Alsace and Lorraine, located in eastern France. At the foot of the Alps, it was ceded to Germany in the Franco-Prussian War and returned after the Peace of Versailles. The poem expresses nostalgia and praise for the motherland on the one hand, and abhorrence of the invasion of imperialist powers on the other.
