JinDeng Temple Festival
Time: The ninth day of the first month of the lunar calendar
The traditional JinDeng Temple Festival is held in the JinDeng Park, and from the eighth day of the first month to the tenth day of the first month, the MingFeng Mountain is filled with incense burners. Yi Family God Hunting Festival is held in JiuXiang area, during the festival, the Yi people also organize various folk activities, such as jumping the big three-stringed, YueQin dance, the king of the whip, etc., and singing love songs, bullfighting and other competition activities.

March 3 is a festival for Kunming people to go on spring excursions, enjoy flowers and trekking. During the festival, there are different mass activities in various parks and scenic areas. Xishan Forest Park and Jinden Park are especially lively.
Kunming International Culture and Tourism Festival
When: during the first day of May every year
The Kunming International Culture and Tourism Festival is held during the first day of May every year, and usually lasts for five days. The Kunming Carnival, which is held at the same time, lasts for three days. Carnival, brightly dressed ethnic songs and dances, large parade floats, making the spring city of Kunming has become a veritable "sea of carnival".
The main activities during the festival are the opening ceremony and float parade, night float parade, the square ethnic song and dance show, the West Temple Square water carnival, Yunnan special and ethnic snacks, such as a long street feast.

Yi Torch Festival

The traditional Yi Torch Festival is held in Lunan's Shilin County, and tourists can experience the festive atmosphere in the Shilin Scenic Area. During the festival, villages and hamlets kill chickens and slaughter goats, prepare delicacies, men, women and children put on costumes and gather at designated venues. During the daytime, activities such as bullfighting and wrestling are held, and at night, torches are lit, and people gather in groups at the square, pile up a lot of torches into fire towers, and sit around the bonfires, singing songs and dancing, a lot of merriment. Brown Mountain Resistance Festival: April 16-19th. Sacrifice mountain god praying for a good harvest, folk song and dance performances, eat "unity rice".
Lahu Janta Festival: April 21-23rd. Sacrificing the ancestors, "tiger" performance, Lusheng dance, "Tsehayami" folklore performance.
The Bai people around the three spirits: April 23rd -24th. Folkloric activities to worship the gods and ancestors.
Yi Flower Arrangement Festival: May 5th-6th. Flower arranging and dancing, ancestor worship, mountain gods and praying for a good harvest in the fields.
Tibetan Denpa Festival: May 7th-8th. Pot Dance.
Hani Bitter Zaza Festival: Early August. Song and dance performances, mill-autumn festival, swinging and mill-autumn performances.
Mosuo Turning to Sea Festival: early September. Song and dance performances.
Wa New Rice Festival: Mid-October. Sacrificing new rice, pulling wooden drums, "plagiarizing" activities, Wa folk songs and dances, and a great Wa gala.
