East Wutai Temple
It was built in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. In 2003, it was inspired by the monk Jidu, the elder of Mount Wutai, and approved by the municipal government. The Religious Affairs Bureau approved the reconstruction. The great monk Jidu sent his direct disciple, the great monk Zhaozheng, to preside over the temple. The whole temple covers an area of ??120 acres and consists of five main halls, 20 side halls and supporting monks' meditation rooms. The gate tower of the temple is 19.9 meters high and 29.9 meters wide. It is carved with 99 Buddhas and 99 dragons in white marble. There is a golden water bridge imitating Tiananmen between the gate tower and the main hall. Under the bridge is a release pool for believers to release animals. The Hall of Heavenly Kings is dedicated to the main Buddha Maitreya Buddha, with the Buddha on the back: Skanda Buddha, and on both sides: the four heavenly kings. The main hall is entirely made of wood and is the only wooden antique building in North China. The hall enshrines Sakyamuni Buddha (middle), Medicine Buddha (east), and Amitabha Buddha (west). There are eighteen Arhats on both sides. The Buddha's body is entirely made of camphor wood. It is made of gold, with the island Guanyin at the back and Samantabhadra and Manjusri Bodhisattva on both sides of the back. The Manjushri Bodhisattva Hall is dedicated to Qianbo Manjusri, and the bronze statue is covered with gold. On both sides of the Manjushri Bodhisattva Hall are the Three Saints in the East and the Three Saints in the West. The Sutra Pavilion in the back hall is the highest hall, with sutra chanting rooms on both sides. The white pagoda stores town treasures and relic balls.
