Living with your loved ones can slow down your thoughts to a greater extent
Even when you are old, you need to have your own hobbies and interests to enrich your life, such as square dancing, playing chess and so on, you can find new fun
More often with friends to walk around and chat
In short, you need to do something that can make you feel valuable, or have a presence to slow down your thoughts about your family. Or something that makes you feel present to slow down the thoughts of your family. It's normal to miss your family, especially in old age, but it's also very painful and can feel endlessly lonely. So it's important to have something or someone to take your mind off of it at times like these to have a happy, fulfilling time, after all, a lot of times loneliness comes from pessimism.
