There are two roads between the village and the school. One has to go through a village to get to school, and the other is a winding country road. When we were young, we always liked to take a walk on that country road.

We walk on a country road, with endless fields on both sides of the road, and crops are guarded in the fields all year round.

After the Spring Festival, when the wheat seedlings began to turn green, there was still a chill in the fresh air. We walked on a country road after school, humming, chasing, slapping, being silent and laughing. Nearly two miles of country roads, I feel that the journey is not only short, but time flies very fast. Always unconsciously, I went to school or returned to the village.

When the weather gets warmer and the wheat starts heading, the rape flowers in the field also begin to blossom. Golden rape blossoms dot the green wheat fields, like a watercolor painting with heavy makeup.

On the way to school, we interplanted peas in wheat fields, looking for fresh and tender pea pods to eat. The green, slightly sweet pea pods was the "snack" that we stole the most when we were young. Sometimes we will hide in the fragrant rape field and look for the newly grown rape moss at the root of rape to eat.

When the ears of wheat began to turn yellow, we tore off a few ears of wheat, rubbed them with our hands a few times, blew off the chaff with our mouths, and left the grains in our hands. We chewed all the wheat grains in our mouths, put the chewed wheat paste in the river ditch, washed it off with water, leaving a little gluten, which became the "bubble gum" we blew when we were young.

During the summer vacation, we each carry a straw basket and pull up some weeds on the roadside or in the fields on both sides of the country road. In summer, the country roads are still muddy after the rain, and the air is filled with the smell of ozone layer after the rain. In the western sky, there is always a rainbow in the sky after the rain. Weeds nourished by rain are not only fertile, but also very easy to pull out. Although there are some dirty things on the grass roots, we like to play with water, and we also play with water when washing grass.

Autumn is coming, we walk on the country road after school, and occasionally go to soybean fields or sweet potato fields to find some fruits of Xiangniangniang or Mugua to eat. Some brave children will steal some soybeans or sweet potatoes and take them to the Woods next to the village to bake sweet potatoes or burn soybeans.

Country roads in winter have a unique flavor. In case of snowstorm, when roads and wheat fields are covered with snow, they sometimes deliberately walk in the snow-covered wheat fields, muttering the proverb as they walk: "Wheat covers three quilts this winter and sleeps with steamed bread next year."

In the snowy wheat field, sometimes I walk along the footprints of rabbits, sometimes I walk along the footprints of pheasants, and sometimes my own footprints, deliberately walking like this, will leave many interesting footprints in the snow. Once excited, after a few rolls in the snow, I immediately got up, patted the snow on my body and started on the road.

During the winter vacation, the country roads will be quiet for a while, and the country roads without children to play are boring. For the sake of spring, we are on the way to school again. The quiet country road is to welcome the arrival of a vibrant spring. Just like those old people who live alone in the countryside, after four seasons of silence, it is for the children who are far away from home to have a good reunion during the Spring Festival.

There are many country roads connecting villages in every village, but the country road to and from school is the one we walk the most and have the deepest impression on.

Every wanderer has a hometown in his heart. Every child who grows up in the country has a country road in his heart.
