Fanjing Mountain is the main peak of the Wuling Mountains, located in the northeastern part of Guizhou Province, at the junction of Jiangkou, Yinjiang and Songtao counties, with an elevation of 2,572 meters above sea level, and is the first mountain of Guizhou. The ancient strata of 1.0-1.4 billion years ago are home to more than 2,600 kinds of organisms, including some ancient animal and plant species from the Tertiary and Quaternary Periods of 70 to 2 million years ago, making it a rare ecological kingdom for human beings. Alpine azalea, beautiful and extraordinary; dove tree blossoms, dancing in the wind; "heavenly" yew, upright and magical. The rare animals represented by the "world's only child" - Qian Jinshi monkey are countless.
Tourists can take a train directly to Yuping, the easternmost point of Guizhou Province (provincial tourists can take a tourist train to Yuping in Guiyang, which is about a 6-hour trip), get off at Yuping Station, and take a Chinese bus from Yuping to Tongren. There are a lot of cabs near Yuping Railway Station, 25 RMB/person to Tongren, leaving after 4 people, or you can charter a bus (bargaining is possible); you can also discuss with the driver whether you can sit directly to Jiangkou County, the fare is about 35-40 RMB/person. After arriving at Tongren, you can take a Chinese bus to Jiangkou or Fanjingshan near the Fanjingshan Hotel, the fare is about 10 yuan/person, the trip takes about one and a half hours, or you can charter a bus.
The buses from the scenic spot gate back to Jiangkou are gone by 4 or 5 pm, so it's best to get to the gate earlier when coming down from the mountain. If there are no more cars, you can also charter a noodle back.
