I am a village teacher and a new education seed teacher. In the days of walking with the new education, I work with my children, with our own hands, with our own wisdom, trying to create our own happy and complete educational life.
In previous years, I took more experimental classes, more graduation classes, needless to say, good grades, the rate of advancement, followed by flowers, applause and honor; in recent years, a sudden whim, and those "grandma does not hurt uncle does not love," the children have had a trick. I did not think, those children are far more powerful than I imagined, a few rounds down, I harvested is hopeless, anxious, and most importantly, almost every day there are "surprises": wax on the floor, blackboard scribbling, broke the broom, broke the glass ...... When it comes to learning, they have no energy. They can't write pinyin, they can't read words, and they don't know anything about math, which is like the world's biggest problem. Even if the teacher lowers the standard, they are all enlightened but not issued, anyone can not help. Once depressed, once mad, but ultimately want to challenge their own limits, not willing to give up easily.
In September 2016, I took over a new group of children. These children are Peiyou class thousands of selected left, they have poor living habits, poor academic performance, most of them are left behind children, many from problematic families, there is a child, into the class, the language five points, zero points in math ...... This child told me that every time the class was in session, the teacher said to him, go out and play, anyway, you stay in the classroom will not learn anything.
Thinking about it, I actually feel a little bit sorry for these kids, who, perhaps, have seen more than their classmates' blank stares and suffered more than their teachers' criticisms in elementary school. Now, they are still willing to sit in the classroom, willing to religiously call me a "teacher", I am willing to and must choose to accept, choose to respect.
These two years, little by little, close to the new education, little by little, touch the new education, I also little by little to understand the true meaning of the new education. The new education is the education of happy teachers and accomplished teachers, and also the education of happy children and accomplished children.
The new education says that what kind of teacher a student encounters means what kind of education he or she encounters. I am willing, to be a warm teacher, more willing to do the temperature of education.
What I can do is - with a group of children, walking on the avenue of new education.
First, build classroom culture, moisturize every heart
Such a group of children, they are accustomed to the teacher's neglect, accustomed to the teacher's severity, accustomed to the father's reprimand, accustomed to the mother's disappointment, they are the most lack of self-confidence, the most lack of is the heartfelt happiness.
When I gathered them together to discuss a good name for our class, they gathered around me and chattered their opinions. Some of the names they came up with were loud, some were overbearing, some were refreshing, and some were weird. When I asked them to elaborate on why they came up with the name, they were again dumbfounded. At this time, I talked about my own ideas: children, in this world, there are sky-high trees, there are nameless grass; some people, brilliant as stars, some people, plain as a chrysanthemum. We, although very ordinary, very common, but we can send out their own light, can still light up the world. Therefore, the teacher only hope that you do a small firefly. Even if we are as tiny as a firefly, but also have their own life joy and meaning of life; even if our light is as weak as a firefly, but also has the same light as the sun, but also has its own value. Remember, we are tiny, but not small, we must try to send out our own light. So, let's call our class "Fireflies", okay? The children's eyes were bright and sparkling with excitement, and they said "yes" together.

Second, let the classroom beautiful, let the walls speak
In order to make our classroom become beautiful, to the group as a unit, closely around the "fireflies", I work with the children to design our classroom culture wall. From the name of the group, to the group motto, to the group rules, group logo, group vision, the children are very attentive. Although they didn't do a particularly beautiful job, they did it with great care. I hope each of these little fireflies will shine brightly.
Three, classroom-based curriculum, rich life
The teacher Zhu Yongxin said that the classroom is a flat burden, one end of which carries the curriculum, and the other end carries the life. The perfect classroom is not only beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside. I also try to take the children together to do the course, the process of doing the course, is the process of teachers and students *** with the growth of the process, in this process, teachers and students together to enjoy the happiness of the educational life in full.
1. Morning recitation, walking through the seasons in poetry
In the summer vacation before taking over this group of children, I intended to take the children together in morning recitation. Waking up each dawn with poetry and brightening each day with poetry should be a particularly beautiful thing for teachers and children.
During that summer vacation, I thought with all my heart, chose carefully, and finally decided on the theme of morning recitation, "There are four seasons", selecting ancient poems from the four seasons of spring, summer, fall, and winter, ten poems for each season, with guided readings, appreciations, and small tasks for the children. After a summer of hard work, our own morning recitation book was born after the start of the school year.
Every morning, we read these poems aloud together, as if we were walking through the beautiful seasons together, as if we were looking at the scenery in the beautiful seasons.
2. Lunch reading, masterpieces accompany my growth
Close to the masterpieces, with the fragrance of the book to moisturize the life, with the classics to enrich the life. In order to cultivate children's good reading habits, but also in order to lead the children to embark on the road of reading together, we come together to read.
Every day, in addition to other time to read freely, lunch study is my designated reading time. Every day at one o'clock in the afternoon, the children will take out their extracurricular books to read, with *** reading programs, but also according to their own interests can be freely arranged.
*** reading program, on the one hand, the teacher to do a good job of guided reading, on the other hand, the teacher is also responsible for building the stage, to create opportunities for children to share and exchange. Through sharing and communication, students have a deeper understanding of the work, and in the process, the students' oral expression ability is greatly improved.
3. Twilight, a little bit of progress every day
The best and most effective education is self-education, and the most effective way to realize self-education is reflection. For my children, the requirements can not be high, I just ask them, every day than yesterday a little bit of progress, and then heart record down. It can be three or five sentences, or one or two hundred words. For example, yesterday in class, listened for 10 minutes and slept for 30 minutes, today listened for 20 minutes and slept for 20 minutes, that's big progress.
In such a record, the children little by little to standardize their words and actions, little by little to change their attitude, but also in such a reflection, little by little progress.
4. Games, in play to learn, in learning to play
Directly to these learning difficulties to talk about learning, they will suffer a lot. So to get them to learn, have to change a pattern, for example, want to let the students memorize ancient poetry, then play a drumming flower, flowers to whoever is there, back out, perform a show. A few rounds of play down, we all memorized the hot.
In addition to drumming and passing the flower, I also for the classroom management problems, to arrange the appropriate small games, such as the officers and soldiers to catch the thief, the lonely island survival, two people three feet, repair the Great Wall, back to back ...... Experience in the game, sense in the experience, and improve in the sense. Playing, they wrote these games into their compositions. Who can say that playing, is not a kind of learning?
5. Movies, the most popular reward
The new education advocates to do the movie course, the movie, is also a kind of educational resources. After taking over the kids, I took them into the recording studio to watch movies. If the kids behaved well any week, I took them to the movies, which was the most popular way of rewarding the kids. We watched The Nun's Child, Springtime for the Herd, Little Shoes, I'm Not a Stupid Kid, Forrest Gump ...... Even though they can't write insightful afterthoughts, it's good to sit down and talk about the takeaways and insights.
Because only the children in our class had the opportunity to watch the movie, this group of children in our class became the happiest children on campus.

Suddenly, I remembered Yuan Mei's poem, "Moss flowers are as small as rice, but they also learn from peonies." Yes, my children and I are in the remote countryside, no one knows who we are, we are as ordinary as the moss flowers, as ordinary as gravel, but we have the same right to enjoy happiness.
