Universal Studios will open on September 20, 2021 officially. Let's look forward to it together. Next, I'll give you an inside look at the experience. All the anticipation will not fail to live up to the wait.
Since our family loves Shanghai Disneyland, it was inevitable that we would compare our experiences. We feel that Universal Studios is of international caliber in both facilities and service, and will be at least on par with Shanghai Disney in the future. The difference in your experience depends on how much you like the themed IP.
Because Universal Studios is not officially open and individual programs are still being tested, there is not enough playing time in a day to make an objective comparison.
Dreams come true.
I think Universal Studios needs relevant movies as background knowledge. The more you like Kung Fu Panda, Little Yellow Men, Transformers, Harry Potter and Dinosaur, the better your experience will be.
Harry Potter, in particular, has a deep cultural heritage. I've seen seasoned Harry Potter fans memorize the names of the four major wizarding schools in the novels, while stores display their own logos, memorabilia, costumes, props, and even the owls from the movies have been developed into hand puppets.
The terrace features foreign performers in wizarding academy costumes, and they'll also pose for photos with visitors in a friendly manner.
How to get around, by car
Universal Resort is equipped with an extensive network of nearby transportation and parking buildings, making it very easy to drive yourself.
Entering the resort's toll booths costs 100 yuan for general parking and 150 yuan for unlimited exclusive parking.
Of these, the You Xiang parking lot is located on the second floor of the parking building, closer to the park security checkpoint. It will save more time if the traffic is heavy.
Exit the parking building and walk more than 570 meters across the city avenue to reach the ticket gate of the theme park.
General Layout of the Theme Park
Based on the movement of visitors entering the park, let's take a look at the general layout of Universal Studios.
Parking Building - City Avenue Scenic Spot Gate (gate-style building, Universal Studios Hotel is above the gate)
Entering the scenic spot gate is a 200-meter-long commercial street, with stores on both sides focusing on all kinds of souvenirs and IP derivatives.
The play area generally consists of seven themed areas, in counterclockwise order from right to left after entering the park
1.Hollywood
2.Little Yellow Man Paradise
3.Jurassic World
4.The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
5.Future Water World
6.The World of Kung Fu Panda
6. p>7. Transformers Base.
Each themed area comes with 3-5 rides, at least two specialty restaurants, souvenir stores and mobile drink and snack kiosks.
Play: Straight to the Theme Method
Inside Universal Studios is a road layout with a ring and an island. Overall, *** there are seven themed areas, six of which are laid out in the outer loop, with the Jurassic Park theme laid out in the center island area.
There are many choices for the loop route, and I generally use the "straight to the theme method", i.e., enter the park and go straight to the must-play items.
There are three main factors to consider when determining the path of play.
First, the queuing time for the must-play items.
1. First, download the "Beijing Universal Resort" APP, in advance of the content of the play program, to determine their own must-play items.
2. On the day of entry, the APP will display the queuing time of the tour programs in real time. My strategy for key items is "one morning and one evening."
For example, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is the most popular must-see item on the Internet, and usually has the longest queue.
If I'm in line within a half hour of getting in in the morning, I'm on in 15 minutes.
Get in line at 18:00pm and you can play in 20 minutes.
At peak times, such as 10:00 a.m., the queue for the item is over 150 minutes.
The second is the level of favoritism for different titles.
For example, depending on your love of Transformers and Harry Potter, Transformers' Battle for the Allspark and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey are popular must-play items. If you're a Transformers fan, put this theme in front of you.
I generally have three levels:
Must-play items, favorites, and entries prioritized.
Should play items, interested, that
Flexible items, where the system shows a short queue, come and experience.
It is the distance between the three items.
This is a combination of several must-play projects between the distance, choose the distance close to the centralized arrangement.
For example, the Future Water World show starts at 15:00 pm and you need to line up around 14:30.
Then at 14:00 you can arrange to play in the nearby Kung Fu Panda themed area, etc., which is more energy efficient.
Combining these factors, you can then mark the items on the park's tour map and sketch out the route, going straight to the point and saving time in the queue.
Overview of Play Items
Everyone has their own preferences, and matching pieces vary widely by age.
Another factor. The cost of each play item varies. Essentially, a heavily-funded program should be a program with a better gaming experience.
Combined with online recommendations and my personal experience, the screening is as follows:
Must-play projects:
1. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
2. Jurassic World Adventure
3. Transformers scramble for the source of the fire
4. The future of the Waterworld stunt show: the real-life battle scene show, don't want to get wet, remember not to sit in the front row! The red seats at the back are safer.
5. Decepticons roller coaster
6. Flying through the Jurassic (not open in the test phase)
Exciting projects
1. Decepticons roller coaster, 360-degree circle, the game of courage.
2. Jurassic World Adventure, dinosaurs come to life, intense.
3. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey with ghosts, spiders and other scenes that are not very friendly to those under 7 years old.
Child-friendly themed areas
Little Yellow Man Land is full of fun and joy.
Kung Fu Panda's world-famous land of man-made attractions, all laid out in an enclosed building, is a great place to play and cool off.
Both areas have programs for girls and little boys under 10 years old.
Particularly recommended is the Jolly Good Sound Tour, a small theater show in Little Yellow Man Land. The original scenes reproduce movie scenes with real cartoon characters, gorgeous stage lighting and wonderful music.
By the way, I recommend this movie. Douban rating 9.2.
If the child has seen the movie in advance, the experience will be better.
Dining Experience
We experienced a couple of meals and rated them in order for your reference.
1. Chi King Restaurant
Lamb set meal with a strong and spicy curry flavor.
Beef set meal, with sweet and sour sauce, not the taste of Chinese lamb skewers are used to.
Fish burger, American style, with large fries, recommended for burger lovers.
2. Chocolate Restaurant
Located on the city road, the restaurant's exterior is in fantastic shape, and the western food and desserts are very good.
The pasta, was delicious. I recommend.
Don't recommend the Chinese stir-fry, especially the children's dish with roast chicken. I do not recommend the three pieces of chicken, one rice, one sauce, without any vegetables.
3. Food stalls in the plaza:
Recommend the grilled pork buns with pork and mushrooms inside and a hamburger-like bread embryo on the outside. It is suitable for children to temporarily fill their stomachs when they are hungry.
4. Butterbeer
A very popular drink, actually a non-alcoholic drink, sold in the Harry Potter area.
The flavor is sweet and the butter that floats on top is rather greasy. Try it while you can and buy it sparingly.
5. Signature Sandwich Ice Cream
For those who don't crave the cold too much, the sandwich crust is similar to an Oreo flavor, emblazoned with the Universal Studios logo. the flavor is sweet.
There are many restaurants to experience on City Avenue, including chain restaurants such as Grandma's and Dong Lai Shun.
A final tip for parents with babies. If your child is under 10 years old, it is recommended to watch Universal Theme Parks related movies in advance, and the tour experience will be greatly enhanced. For example, "The Hurt Locker", "The Sound of Joy", "Kung Fu Panda", "Harry Potter Movie Series" and so on.
