What kind of nightlife do rural people have?

When I was a child, I went to my grandma's house in the countryside to play, every summer vacation. The night life in the countryside at that time was chatting outside in the summer, I guess. Some people gathered together to chat, the children played games on the side, and some people played poker together. In the winter, it was indoors, and many people would come to visit. Some people even play mahjong.

I think the night life in the countryside is just lively, everyone likes to get together. No matter how old or young the men or women are, they like to gossip together. They like to gossip together. Nowadays, there are more entertainment programs in the countryside, and there are billiard halls and singing places in the villages. The billiard hall at my grandmother's house was open for a while, but it was closed down because the villagers never paid for the games and couldn't collect money from their relatives and neighbors.

Now I've heard that a KTV has been opened in the village, and families and friends go there to sing on New Year's Day. And now there are smartphones for everything. The countryside also has the Internet, and people still mainly play with their cell phones at night inside their homes. It doesn't feel too different from the city. In the city, you might be able to go shopping and watch movies. It's just those two more things, and everything else feels pretty much the same.

There are times when there are tours to the countryside. The performance team. Each family pays a little bit of money and then they come and perform in the village center. I think it was a rural carnival. Every house was lit up with lanterns. The children, they're all dressed up with sweets and benches and they're all gathered together. They watched the show while getting high on melon seeds and occasionally talked about other things. I think this is a unique scene in the Chinese countryside. Movies always show how quiet the Japanese countryside is. The Chinese countryside is very lively.
