Wumadu is located at the northern foot of Mufu Mountain in Muyan Riverside Scenic Area, Qixia District, Nanjing. According to legend, after the "Eight Kings Rebellion" at the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, Si Marui, Wang Sima, Southern Tang Sima Zong, Runan Sima You and Pengcheng Wang Sima crossed the river, and Si Marui's mount suddenly turned into a dragonfly, which became a "good omen" before he proclaimed himself emperor. In 3 17, Si Marui officially established its capital Jiankang (now Nanjing) and established the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Wumadu also got its name.
