History of Jieshan Township

In 1735, present-day Jieshan Township was divided into South Renshou Bao, North Renshou Bao, Renhua Bao and Renhe Bao in Dongping Prefecture

By 1936, present-day Jieshan Township belonged to the fourth district of Dongping County, which had three townships and 20 townships under its jurisdiction, and the district seat was at the Jieshan Collective

In the early 1950s, several villages, such as Wubucun, formerly under the jurisdiction of the fourth district, were allocated to Feicheng

In July 1953, the In July 1953, the fourth district of Dongping was changed to the sixth district of Dongping, Chaoyangzhuang, Suicheng and other villages were assigned to the fifth district (Shangzhuang), Wuyan, Beichengzi and other villages were assigned to the fourth district (Suicheng)

In September 1955, the sixth district of Dongping was renamed Jieshan District

The district was withdrawn from the district in February 1958, and the Jieshan Township, Changzhuang Township, and Xiache Township were established

The three townships were withdrawn from the district in October of the same year, and were changed to the Jieshan People's Commune and the Cangqiu People's Commune, respectively. Suicheng and other villages were returned.

In December of the same year, Cangqiu People's Commune was incorporated into Jieshan People's Commune

In October 1959, Dongping County was abolished and Jieshan Commune was transferred to Pingyin County.

In 1962, Dongping County was re-established. Jieshan Commune was returned to Dongping County.

In 1975, the seat of the commune was moved from Jieshan to Zhangheqiao

In April 1984, Jieshan People's Commune was changed to Zhangheqiao District, and the seat was moved to Zhangheqiao, with Jieshan Township, Xiaxie Township, Place Township, Cangqiu Township, and Xutan Township under it

In December 1985, the district was abolished to establish townships, and the former Zhangheqiao District was divided into Zhangheqiao Township and Jieshan Township. Zhangheqiao Township is located in Zhangheqiao Village, and Jieshan Township is located in Jieshan Village.

Early in 2001, Zhangheqiao Township was abolished, and its establishment was merged into Jieshan Township as a whole.

In June 2010, Jieshan Township was abolished and established as Jieshan Township.
