The name of the song "The Moon Shines Brightly, Shining on My Brother's Heart" is "The River Runs Through It".
Composition Background:
The composition of the song is controversial. One theory is that the song "The River Runs Through It" is a compilation of two Yunnan folk songs, "The Sheepherding Tune" and "The Moon Comes Out Bright and Wide", by Yin Yigong, a member of Yunnan University's Nanfeng Chorus. He was inspired to write the song after hearing Hua Mingbang, a member of the Nanfeng Chorus, humming one of the songs on a moonlit night and repeated the song over and over again.
After writing the piece, Jiang Ruasi, the founder of Yunnan University's South Wind Chorus, named it "The Little River Runs Through the Water". Another theory holds that "Water Runs Down the Little River" is not a folk song collected and organized by Yin Yigong, but a song composed by Gao Liang.
