The Humanistic Story of Qishan Scenic Area

From the place named "Phoenix Valley" to the top, the bamboo forests along the way are tall and straight, the ancient trees are towering, the forest species are rich, and the original trees are well protected; I am not afraid of the reputation of "precious plant gene bank" and "natural plant specimen garden". Walking about 10, you can see the tomb pagoda forest in Qishan, which is the final destination of the eminent monks in Qishan. There are more than 30 tombs, among which "ordinary pagodas" have well-preserved caskets of 5-600 monks, so there is a saying that "thousands of monks are hidden in ordinary pagodas". Looking through the historical documents of Qishan, the most legendary one is Shi Zhida, the founder of Qishan. He was born in a big family in Hengzhou. He once achieved the fame of a scholar, but because of his integrity and lofty personality, he could not stand the corruption of the court and the hypocrisy in the world of mortals. So he went to Yanfeng Temple to get a haircut and become a monk. Because of worshipping the famous monk "Lazy Can" in Tang Dynasty as a teacher, he called himself "Lazy".

In Chongzhen 10 of Ming Dynasty (1637), the miners' rebel army led by Liu Xinyu and Nu attacked Changning, went south to Guiyang and captured the capital of Hengzhou. At this time, Shi Zhida, who was practicing in Yanfeng Temple, escaped from Hengzhou with his mother in order to avoid the catastrophe of war.

One day, the lazy mother and son were sheltering from the rain in a cave and happened to meet a white-haired monk. So Lazy Fang worshiped the white-haired monk as a teacher and stayed in this cave to practice with the white-haired monk. Lazy Fang's mother washed and cooked for her disciples.

In a blink of an eye, it was Chongzhen 13 (1640) in the Ming Dynasty, and three years passed. Laziness at this time has been passed down by the master, and his magic has become like a fairy. On this day, the white-haired master said to the lazy Fang, "Great wisdom! Find another Lingshan, promote Buddhism and open a mountain for our ancestors! " Say that finish, his white-haired master disappeared in a cloud of white smoke.

So, lazy to listen to the instructions of the white-haired master, with his mother looking for Lingshan everywhere.

Lazy mother and son walked to Phoenix Mountain, which coincided with the rainy season in March in spring, and it was raining in Mao Mao. Lazy mother and son saw the beautiful scenery of the peaks here. The peaks stood on the Wan Ren, misty and motionless, looming and confusing, as if they were in a fairyland. He decided that this was an ideal place for him to practice and build temples.

After many twists and turns, he found Peng Qishan, the owner of Phoenix Mountain. After meeting, Lazy said to Peng Qishan, "I will buy a large piece of land on your mountain with 50 taels of silver to build a temple. Do you think so? "

Peng Qishan thought: This monk's cassock is not bigger than this, and he is willing to pay a high price of 520 silver. This business is worthwhile; So he said, "All right! We will achieve results at this price. "

The lazy man took out fifty taels of silver and said to Peng Qishan, "Then please come out from the whole village and be a notary for me."

Peng Qishan also felt that listening to lazy words made sense, so he called out all the people in the village. The lazy man gave Peng Qishan fifty taels of silver and said loudly to the villagers, "You testify that I gave him the silver!" " Then, I saw him take off his cassock and throw it into the sky. Strangely, this cassock rose into the air by itself, grew bigger and bigger, and then fell down. I didn't expect this tattered cassock to cover the whole Phoenix Mountain, and the whole village was shouting in surprise.

Peng Qishan can't go back on his word in front of the whole village at this time. In desperation, he had to hand over the title deed of Fenghuang Mountain to Lazy Party. When handing over the title deed, Peng Qishan said to the lazy party, "This mountain was handed down by my ancestors, and I bought it for you today, but I hope to rename Phoenix Mountain as' Its Mountain' so as not to live up to my ancestors!"

Lazily agreed to his request; Since then, Phoenix Mountain has been renamed as "Its Mountain", and later became "Qishan" because of a mistake.

In order to build a temple, he was lazy and indulgent. After many unremitting efforts, Qishan Temple was finally built in the fifth year of Qing Shunzhi (1648). Also in this year, the Nanyue Temple was burned down and many monks came to Qishan. All of a sudden, the number of monks in Qishan Temple reached more than 400. They opened an altar here to give lectures, which was very lively and famous, attracting many pilgrims to worship and the incense was flourishing. After Zhida's death, the number of monks decreased again and again, and the temple gradually became deserted.

According to the Records of Hengnan County, in the fifth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1866), a famous monk rebuilt the temple, carved a new Buddha statue, renamed the temple "Qishan Jungle", and later expounded Buddhism, and more than 200 monks reunited.

In Guangxu 10 (1884), the temple was burned. The abbot, Elder Jing Tian, raised funds to rebuild the temple and expand its scale. The Yi temple was named "Ren Rui Temple". Later, he went to Beijing to learn from the scriptures. Legend has it that Master Jing Tian cured Empress Dowager Cixi with Buddha's light. After Cixi fell ill, he instructed Emperor Guangxu to summon Master Jing Tian and ask him what he wanted. Master Jing Tian wants nothing but to repair Qishan Temple. Received more than 700 volumes of classics, laws and treatises, two axes of "Fu" and "Dian", the plaque of "Changshou Temple" inscribed by Emperor Guangxu, thousands of immortal Buddha statues, Zijin robes and boots and many other treasures. Appointed court officials to escort to Qishan. At that time, "fragrant flowers sandwiched the road, pavilions were full, customs welcomed guests, and Wan Li was endless." Since then, the temple has been well-known and famous in the south of the Yangtze River. In 2 1 year of Guangxu in Qing dynasty, monks gathered, and there were as many as a thousand monks living in the temple. Continue walking up for about 10 minutes, and you will reach the Ren Rui Temple in Qishan, which has a history of more than 500 years. After the death of Jing Tian Temple, it became cold again. In the late 1940s, there were only 100 monks. During the Cultural Revolution, monasteries suffered heavy losses, Buddha statues were destroyed, Tibetan scriptures were burned and cultural relics were lost. After 1980, the surviving monks returned to the temple and gradually recovered to today's scale. It is worth seeing that there are more than 10 ancient inscriptions in the temple, which record the rise and fall history of Ren Rui Temple in Qishan, and have high historical value.

In this temple, there used to be a "pot for thousands of people", which could hold more than 5 thousand kilograms of water. Temples use it to cook for thousands of monks. There is another story about this "thousand-person pot":

In other words, after the founder of Qishan was lazy to put "a robe to cover the middle of the mountain", there were many monks and pilgrims in the temple. They have problems eating Lent, but their laziness is a headache. Due to the limited capacity of the cooking pot in Lent, monks and pilgrims have to take turns to use Lent, which is inconvenient and uneconomical to wait for a meal. He thought, "If we could have an extra-large pot in our temple, wouldn't it solve the problem of thousands of monks and pilgrims using lent in the whole temple at once?" However, he went to the surrounding casting pot workshops to contact and inquire, but he didn't have the technical ability to cast a cauldron, so he had to give up.

One day, Lazy Feiyun traveled to Foshan, Guangdong. He passed a large-scale pot-casting workshop and saw a large number of iron pot, big and small, which made him completely blind, so he went in curiously.

He told the workshop owners and craftsmen that he needed to make a "cauldron for thousands of people". The workshop owner said to the lazy side, "Technically speaking, it is not too difficult for us to cast such a cauldron. The difficulty is that only one such cauldron is customized, but here I want to transform the iron casting furnace, re-make molds, casting tools and so on. So the cost is too high.

Lazy to see him look embarrassed, hurriedly pleaded again and again, and repeatedly mobilized and persuaded. Workshop owners and craftsmen saw that they were lazy and came from afar, eager to do good deeds. They were also moved by his sincerity and agreed to his request.

After the business was settled, the workshop owner organized craftsmen to work overtime overnight, and in less than half a month, the "thousand-person pot" was cast.

Lazy looking at the black "thousand-person pot", I am very happy. I immediately hired dozens of local transporters. I was busy for a long time, carrying a 2-ton "thousand-person pot" on the road. They crossed mountains and mountains, crossed bridges when encountering water, and overcame many difficulties.

On this day, they managed to move more than ten miles, until the transport workers who had rested in a temple and worked hard all day had fallen asleep with snoring.

Late at night, I am lazy and can't sleep. He calculated that Foshan and Qishan are thousands of miles apart, and it will take dozens of people several months to transport the "thousand-person pot" back to the temple. Can you afford such a fee? What shall we do? After thinking for a long time, he fell asleep.

In the dim light, he really saw the white-haired master, holding an umbrella with a hook and walking to his bed. He smiled lazily: "Hey! Hey! My good disciple, you didn't live up to my expectations. I ate this elixir for you, burned three pieces of money paper on the way, and hooked the' Thousand Pots' with this umbrella handle, so that the' Thousand Pots' can be easily transported back to Qishan. If you are in danger on the road, just remember my image silently and your own god will help you. "

Then put an elixir into Lai Fang's mouth and turned around and disappeared.

Lazy to swallow the elixir, trying to stop the white-haired master from turning over, I realized it was a dream. He rubbed his eyes and looked. It's already white outside the window. It's dawn. At this point, he only felt clear-headed and full of energy, and there seemed to be a lingering fragrance in his mouth. When he looked again, he found an umbrella with a hook beside the bed.

He immediately picked up the hook, took the umbrella to the "thousand-person pot" outside the door and tried it according to the method taught by the white-haired master. Sure enough, the two-ton cauldron became lighter than a dustpan. After putting down the pot, he immediately knelt on the ground, folded his hands and recited the scriptures: "Amitabha! Amitabha! "

So, I bid farewell to all the transporters and set off alone with an umbrella handle with a thousand pots hanging on it. A few days later, I returned to the foot of Qishan.

At this time, it's getting late, and there are many strange rocks on the roadside, which is eerie. Suddenly, an evil wind blew, and I looked up lazily. I saw a snakehead with green face and fangs blocking the way. Lazy loudly reprimanded: "I am a monk, charity-oriented, celebrating all over the world, why should Uber block evil?" Very good! Very good! "

The monster growled, "Smelly monk, since you came to Qishan and built a temple in my cave, I have been homeless." Today, you bought a' thousand-person pot' and told me when to go home. How can you not report this revenge? " While speaking, the monster bared his teeth and pounced on laziness.

Lazy and ready, he put the "thousand-person pot" on the roadside behind him. He picked up an umbrella as a weapon and fought the monster for several rounds. The monster got the upper hand a little, and almost broke the cauldron on the roadside several times.

At this critical moment, the lazy mind suddenly flashed the appearance of a white-haired master. Somehow, the "thousand-person pot" immediately flew into the air and floated in the direction of the temple.

At this time, the monster rushed at the lazy man again. The lazy man raised the umbrella handle and hit the monster hard on the head. At this time, the umbrella handle seems to have added a thousand kilograms of strength. Suddenly, the monster rolled on the ground and died.

On closer inspection, it turned out to be a huge dog snake. When it was lazy and kicked to the side of the road, it turned into an ugly boulder.

At the same time, monks and pilgrims in the temple on the mountain watched the cauldron fall from the sky. They were very surprised. When they looked carefully, they found that the majestic Wei Tuo Bodhisattva was sweating on his forehead! Everyone laughed and said that the bodhisattva had appeared. It turned out that when Lazy was fighting with that bitch, Wei Tuo Bodhisattva, one of the "Eight Generals", secretly helped, defeated that bitch and snake, and brought the pot of thousands of people to the temple.

Since then, since Qishan Temple has a "pot of thousands of people", monks and pilgrims in the temple no longer worry about using lent, and the incense is getting more and more prosperous and gradually famous overseas.

Now, I don't know when this "pot of thousands of people" became an exhibit of Nanyue Temple, and Qishan only left the story of this "pot of thousands of people". After swimming in Ren Rui Temple, I walked 200 meters to the west and came to the "Meditation Pavilion". This is the place where the legendary "mid-levels robe" is lazy. There is nothing special in it, but there is an old tree next to the temple called "husband and wife tree", which is a bit interesting.

Qishan Jingxinlin is a place where the founder of the mountain is lazy and outstanding. These 200-year-old trees can be seen everywhere in Qishan.

So, we continued to the west, climbed the "Phoenix Ridge", walked the Panshan Highway for 10 minutes, then left the highway and walked the steps made of bluestone for about 30 minutes. Although we were sweating like a pig, we finally climbed to the top of Qishan. From then on, we looked around, the frost was drunk, the green was bright, and under the blue Tian Ru cloud, we wanted to be thousands of miles poor. Then I remembered the poem Qishan written by Zhijiang in Qingquan County in Qing Dynasty:

The valley is full of Zen, and the forest is fine. Dark springs bend according to music, and stone houses gather clouds.

Sign up for the game to increase your knowledge and find a quiet place with few guests. There is no need to win, but this is Luo Yan.

At this point, we understand the true meaning of picturesque.

There is an ancient road in the bamboo forest, which leads to the top of Phoenix Ridge, and I return along the original road. After going down the mountain, I went alone along the stream to find the scenery such as Xianren Bridge, Ren Xian Trail, Ren Xian Boat, Ren Xian Chess, Ren Xian Well and Ren Xian Cage introduced in the information. I only saw many strange stones by the stream, but I don't know why there is no landscape introduction card. There are many legends of immortals beside Qishan Creek.

Since entering Qishan, there has been a feeling of stepping into ancient times from modern times, and the noise and impetuousness of the urban cement forest suddenly vanished. Quiet mountain, quiet water and quiet road. The beautiful and ethereal Qishan seems to have entered our hearts, and we really want to be immortal here all our lives.
