Scenic Spot Characteristics of Jinxiu Lotus Mountain

The biggest feature of Jinxiu Lotus Mountain Scenic Spot is based on the Yao folklore formed by the large local Yao population in Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County. In the scenic area there is the only temple in the entire Jinxiu that honors the Yao ancestor, Panwang, also known as the Panwang Temple. In the temple, King Pan holds a bull's horn, which holds an important place in the migratory history of the Yao people. Because when they were pursued by the government soldiers, the Yao people split into 12 branches and fled separately. In order to get together later, the Yao people sawed the bull's horn into 12 pieces, one for each branch, so that if the 12 branches of the Yao people were reunited in the future, the bull's horn could be assembled in its entirety. The statue of Pan Wang holding the bull's horn is also very rare in the whole of China.

There is another program inside the scenic area which is very characteristic of Yao, which is the Yao folklore show. There will be Yao girls and Yao boys singing and dancing in the Yi-Wang Pavilion. Unlike other ethnic minority areas where actors and tourists pull hands and kick the legs of the dance, the dance here is a kind of bamboo clip knocking the back, and dance with the song, a kind of dance is to imitate the Yao girls dress up dance, very interesting.
