In addition to the above foreign countries to build their own pavilions, as the host of China, part of the building is also very distinctive. The appearance of the Chinese National Pavilion to the "Crown of the Orient" as the conceptual theme, the whole was arch-shaped, height of more than 60 meters, magnificent. Its design concept can be summarized as: "the crown of the Orient, flourishing China, the world's breadbasket, affluent people". China Pavilion consists of two parts: the National Pavilion and the Regional Pavilion. The spatial location and orientation of these two parts respectively reflect the understanding of the relationship between "heaven" and "earth" in oriental philosophy. National Pavilion for the "sky", rich sense of sculpture modeling body --- "Crown of the Orient" towering in the middle of the formation of open and standing trend; regional pavilions for the "ground", like a pedestal extended in the country under the pavilion, forming a thick dependence on the state. This great extent, the national style of the permanent building, and the same in Pudong, the iconic building of the sea culture of the Oriental Pearl Tower, forming a sharp contrast.

The British Pavilion is a "seed temple" of light and shadow. The British Pavilion is absolutely unforgettable, and it breaks away from the traditional architectural concept of "frame". The biggest highlight is its core part: "Seed Sanctuary" --- 6-story cube structure, surrounded by about 60,000 transparent acrylic rods, these acrylic rods outward stretching, swaying with the wind. During the day, light shines through the transparent acrylic rods to illuminate the interior of the Seed Sanctuary; at night, the light source contained within them lights up the entire building.
