According to legend, a long time ago, Dunhuang was an endless Gobi, with no Mingsha Mountain and no crescent moon spring. One year, there was a severe drought here, and all the trees and crops died. People are thirsty and shouting. The beautiful and kind fairy Baiyun passed by here, and when she heard the cries of people tearing their hearts out, her heart felt like a needle, and she shed tears of sympathy sadly. Tears fell to the ground and became clear springs, which relieved people's thirst. To thank Dade, people built a temple to worship the Baiyun Fairy. Who knows, this annoyed Sha Daxian of Shensha Temple. He grabbed the yellow sand, turned it into a sand mountain to bury the clear spring, and drove away the white fairy who took his incense. The fairy white clouds are shallow, but they can't fight against sand, so she came to Chang 'e for nine days and used the moon to fight against sand. This day happens to be the fifth day. Fairy Baiyun borrowed a crescent moon and put it in the middle of the sand mountain, turning it into a clear spring for people to drink and water the fields. Shensha Daxian once again filled the crescent spring with magic. Chang 'e was very angry when she learned about it. She accused Sha Daxian of being rude and cruel, and brushed her sleeve gently, causing a strong wind to blow quicksand filled with spring water to the top of the mountain. Shadaxian was so angry that he thundered, so Shashan rang.
