"Li Congrong" Miao Village Dong Township is a famous scenic spot in the cultural landscape of Southeast Guizhou Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture.
The Miao Village and Dong Township in Qiandongnan Prefecture is the most concentrated and representative in the southern region. Along the Rongjiang, Congjiang, and Liping lines, you can experience the most distinctive Miao Village and Dong Township customs. Tourists usually refer to these three places collectively as Le Cong Rong.
Rongjiang: Rongjiang is the birthplace of Dong Miao culture. It is named after the rows of banyan trees along the river. There are still more than 40 century-old banyan trees in the county. There are 15 ethnic minorities in Rongjiang. Among them, the four main ethnic minorities, Dong, Miao, Shui and Yao, account for 84.4% of the total population, building Rongjiang's unique regional ethnic culture.
The distribution of ethnic customs here is relatively concentrated, with Sanbao Thousand Household Dong Village, Zaidang Dong Song, Seventy-two Dong Village, and Longtang Wonders as the main scenic spots.
Congjiang: Here is Basha, which is known as the living fossil of Miao culture.
Basha Miao Village is located in the hinterland of Moon Mountain, a branch of Jiuwan Mountain, by the Duliu River, 7 kilometers away from Congjiang County. It consists of five natural villages with 422 households.
It is said that the ancestors of the Basha Miao people were the vanguard of the Great Migration. For thousands of years, the men here have retained the custom of long hair and braids, and hang shotguns, gourds, horns, machetes and knives on their waists all year round. The gunpowder gun is carried on the shoulder; the woman is wearing a side bun, a wooden comb, and a triangular skirt with the Miao king's square pattern.
Liping: Liping is the transition zone from the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to the hills of western Hunan and the Guangxi Basin. The most famous ones here are the Bazhou River Scenic Area and the Zhaoxing Dong Township Scenic Area.
Zhaoxing was formerly known as Zhaodong. There are rows of stilt houses in the village, with theater buildings and singing flats dotted among them. The five drum towers are the most concentrated among the current Dong drum towers. The interior decoration of the drum tower is full of Dong flavor, and the wings and corners are full of animal patterns and character stories. The Drum Tower is connected to the Flower Bridge and the stilted buildings along the river, and is connected with the Wind and Rain Bridge. Even on rainy days, you can pass by safely without getting wet.
