Dave is self-taught and says Michael Jackson inspired him. When he was a teenager, he was already mimicking moves from videos, including styles such as Breaking, Beat Street and more. A famous rapper from a local dance group invited Dave to replace one of their dancers on stage, an invitation that launched his dancing career.
Scott began dancing for Ginuwine, going on tour, and participating in music video recordings. Soon, feeling more drawn to working behind the scenes and enjoying choreography more, he became reclusive and worked as a choreographer and artistic director of dance. He choreographed for celebrities on tour and worked with Brian McKnight, Tyrese, Jon B and IMX to name a few. Inspired to tap into the youth market, he discovered two young dance groups, one of which is the famous B2K, which combines all the elements of youthful exuberance and passionate seduction. He gave B2K not only the name, but also the style of dance, the moves, the passion, and all the ingredients for success, and Dave hired Chris Stokes to do the music for them. In just two years, B2K has gone platinum with two albums, a Christmas album, a Remix CD, and a sold-out tour. After Scott directed the dances for the movies House Party 4 and Good Burger, he decided to take the next step by reintroducing B2K in a movie.
