What are the famous plays in Hunan?

1. Among many local operas called "ancient painting operas", Yueyang ancient painting opera belongs to Hunan ancient painting opera, which has the widest spread and the greatest influence. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the art of Hunan ancient painting and drama has developed greatly. Hunan Theatre has compiled and created such plays as Playing Gong, Mending Pot and Chopping Wood.

2. Wuling Opera is mainly popular in Changde, Taoyuan, Hanshou, Cili and other counties and cities, as well as the lakeside of Xidongting and Xiangxi, as far away as Hubei and Guizhou. There are three kinds of vocal cavity: high-pitched, elastic and Kun.

3. Baling Opera was formed and popular in Yueyang, Hunan Province, and was called Baling in ancient times, hence its name. Because Baling once belonged to Yuezhou, it is also called "Yuezhou Class". There are mainly two kinds of vocals, Kunqu Opera and Tan Qiang, which are sung in the tones of Huguang Opera and Xiangbei Dialect.

4. Lantern Festival, a traditional folk art widely popular in China. Its outstanding feature is that the hand never leaves the fan and handkerchief, singing and dancing, and singing and doing are closely combined. Lantern Festival originated from folk lantern dance, which is a local opera form formed in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.

5. xiang opera is one of the traditional operas in Hunan, which originated from Yiyang Opera in Ming Dynasty. Later, it absorbed Kunqu Opera and Pihuang Opera, forming a multi-cavity opera, including high-pitched, low-pitched, Kunqu Opera and Sanju Opera.
