Introduction of Tianjin Grand Theater

Tianjin Grand Theater, located on the east side of the central landmark area of Tianjin Cultural Center in the Hexi District of Tianjin, People's Republic of China, is the largest cultural venue in Tianjin Cultural Center. The Tianjin Grand Theater was designed by GMP Germany and is a modernist building. Construction of the new Tianjin Grand Theatre began in 2009 and was completed and opened on April 22, 2012, with a total floor area of 105,000 square meters, a capacity of 3,600 spectators and a total cost of RMB 1.533 billion. The Grand Theater is located in a landmark location in Tianjin, adjacent to the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Government and the Tianjin Welcome Hotel. The Grand Theater has a total construction area of 101,800 square meters (220 meters long, 206 meters wide and 45 meters high), of which 70,000 square meters are the building itself and 30,000 square meters are the underground facilities, with three building units located on a 6-meter pedestal and connected by a large roof. The architectural design unit is German GMP Design, and the stage process design unit is German Kunkel. The cost of the project is 1.533 billion RMB. The Grand Theater is positioned as a comprehensive multi-functional art creation and performance institution, consisting of an opera hall, a concert hall and a small theater. Theater total ***3200 seats, the first floor and four floors each with a rehearsal hall. Auditorium seat farthest point of view distance 34.6 meters (over 33 meters seats accounted for 7%), seat row spacing 0.95 meters, acoustic indicators (reverberation variable) for the Opera Hall 1.6 seconds, Concert Hall 1.9 seconds, a small theater 0.8 seconds. The Grand Theatre also has a Chinese and Western restaurant with an area of about 7,000 square meters and ancillary facilities for 700 people to dine at the same time, and a commercial space of about 5,500 square meters under the 6-meter platform, which can be used as a venue for art training and art business for the city's high-end cultural consumer groups. The theater has 3 VIP rooms (175 square meters, 126 square meters, 50 square meters) and about 400 parking spaces. Facing the lake, the Grand Theater utilizes a waterfront platform to create a spacious public **** space, forming an open "urban stage" that can be used by the public for rest and observation, as well as to meet the demand for outdoor multi-functional performances.
