Brief introduction of Yufeng Temple

Yufeng Temple was built in the thirty-ninth year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, namely 1700. At the largest time in history, there were nine courtyards, the existing main hall and the upper and lower houses. The main hall of Yufeng Temple is a quadrangle, which consists of a gatehouse, a main hall and two tigers. The layout is harmonious and symmetrical. The main hall sits west to east, with double eaves resting on the top of the mountain, the main ridge decorated with treasure tops, and the ends decorated with animal kisses. The total width of the main hall is16.3m, and the total depth is12.6m. The upper eaves are supported by three Taoruyi arches, and the lower eaves are decorated with arc pavilions, which has a strong architectural style of Qing Dynasty. Four gold pillars in the room are used as reliefs of the golden dragon. The octagonal caisson at the top is painted with tantric Buddha sitting in the palace, and the beam skirt is painted with 20 Buddha statues, with simple lines and Tibetan "Thangka" style.

Zhou Songbai has many temples, flowing springs and beautiful scenery. It is a must-see spot for Lijiang tourism, especially for Lijiang tourism in spring. Yufeng Temple is located at the southern foot of the snow-capped mountain, which is 0/5km north of Old Town of Lijiang. It ranks as one of the five largest Lama temples in the suburbs of Lijiang, along with Guo Fu Temple, Fosaiji Temple, Wenfeng Temple and Zhiyun Temple. Lijiang Jinsha Tourism strongly recommends traveling to Lijiang and Yufeng Temple in spring. There are precious flowers and trees such as camellia, cherry blossoms, Michelia (Thyme) and Magnolia officinalis (Albizzia) inside and outside the temple, especially the ten thousand camellia plants in the upper courtyard, which are famous at home and abroad. Camellia trees in Yufeng Temple were planted during the reign of Kangxi for 300 years. This camellia tree is very distinctive. It is known as the first branch in Yunling and the king of camellia in the world. It is also said that Yunnan Mountain is the best tea in the world, and Lijiang Camellia is the best in Yunnan. There are also two Michelia yunnanensis trees in the house of commons, commonly known as Shilixiang, which bloom from the severe winter to the end of the following spring, and their fragrance floats in the ancient temple for a long time. Thousands of camellias in Yufeng Temple are blooming with smiling faces in Yunnan, and there will be a large influx of tourists. Camellia in Yufeng Temple is in full bloom with a long flowering period. Every year, flowers bloom in early spring and in long summer. In the seven festivals of 100, more than 20 batches were held successively. New flowers bloom, old flowers fall, and they are tender when they are thin and red. A total of more than 20,000 flowers will be produced, hence the name "Ten Thousand Camellia". The camellia trees in Yufeng Temple are not tall and can be enjoyed on the spot. Generally, ancient camellias are mostly sparse trunks, so it is advisable to look at them from a distance and not to admire them nearby. The so-called distant view of a tree is red, and a close look at Lingyun. Yufeng Mountain tea is only 3 meters high, with thick stems and columns and intricate branches and buckles. Cleverly woven into a big flower shed with three grids and one cover, the front is 4 meters long and the sides are more than 3 meters. The top is a flower cover with an area of more than 40 square meters, and the crown is 56 meters wide, covering almost the whole courtyard. When visitors enter the hospital, flowers lead the clothes: people are under the flower trees and flowers are in the crowd, and the blush of Camellia people is red, which makes people fascinated. Such a strange shape is not affected by wind and frost, but also can be enjoyed by tourists, which shows the ingenuity of cultivators. There are two kinds of camellia in Yufeng Temple, and they are mixed and civilized. This tree used camellia oleifera as its rootstock and lion head tea as its scion. After grafting, the side branches of the original rootstock forest are luxuriant, forming a spectacle of multi-petal Camellia oleifera lion head. The lion's head flower is as big as a seven-inch porcelain plate and colorful as a rose. It opens side by side, with nine clusters of stamens and eighteen petals, which is called nine hearts and eighteen petals. Camellia oleifera is a single flower with a deep red color, commonly known as Zhao Dianhong and Tongzimian. These two kinds of camellia are mixed into a tree. When the flowers bloom, it looks like a big tree from a distance, with the snow peak as the foil, showing a wonderful scene of trees swallowing fire and residual snow burning red for a long time.

Yufeng Temple is small, but it is famous for camellia.

There are three courtyards in the temple, and the famous "Wannian Camellia" is planted in the north courtyard. According to legend, this tea tree was planted in Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1465- 1487), with tea trees first and temples later. This "King of Camellia" has a history of more than 500 years. Camellia is a combination of two different varieties of camellia (one is "Lion Head" and the other is "Zaotaohong"), with a diameter of 34 cm and a height of only 2 meters, but the crown area is 56 square meters. Every year, after spring begins, flowers bloom in the long summer. During the 100 days of seven festivals, more than 20 batches were opened, with more than 1000 flowers in each batch and more than 20,000 flowers in * * *. Most of them are side by side. Flowers with nine cores and eighteen petals are like seven-inch tea plates. The big branches and leaves are woven into a "three-grid, two-foot square" flower shed, and the front looks like a peacock. Ten thousand camellia plants are competing to open, and the flowers are like camellia, which is known as "the first camellia in the world". Every spring, tourists come to see camellia in an endless stream. People are in the flowers, flowers are in the crowd, and people are enjoying themselves. Yufeng Temple, Beiyue Temple and Beisha Murals have become important cultural tourist attractions in Lijiang.
