As of June 2019, Laiwu, Shandong has been abolished as a city and divided into districts, so there are no districts or counties under its jurisdiction.
The State Council approved and agreed that Shandong Province should adjust the administrative division of Laiwu City, Jinan City, abolish Laiwu City, and transfer the area under its jurisdiction to the jurisdiction of Jinan City; set up the Laiwu District of Jinan City, and take the administrative area of the former Laiwu City of Laiwu City as the administrative area of Laiwu District; and set up the Gangcheng District of Jinan City, and take the administrative area of the former Gangcheng District of Laiwu City as the administrative area of Gangcheng District.

On September 20, 2017, the news of Jimo withdrawing the city and setting up a district was announced to the public.On October 30, 2017, Jimo District was officially listed.On August 28, 2018, Binzhou revoked Zouping County to set up Zouping City.On September 30, 2018, the website of the People's Government of Jinan Municipality formally published the "Circular of the People's Government of Jinan Municipality on the Revocation of Jiyang County and Setting Up of a District", which revoked Jiyang County and set up the Jiyang District of Jinan City.
