Chengyang village, a Dong village, is located at the junction of Guizhou, Hunan and Guangxi provinces. There are eight Dong villages that are intermittently connected (locally called "Chengyang Eight Villages").
Chengyang village has a large number of traditional wooden buildings of the Dong nationality. Locals also prefer to wear traditional costumes and continue various ancient national festivals (this should be a display for tourism). Villagers can sing and dance well, especially when there are many tourists. There are traditional song and dance performances in the village almost every day, and tourists can feast their eyes on them.
Some people say that Bazhai (Chengyang Village) has more than 1, Dong villagers, which is the largest Dong community in the area. As for the accuracy of this figure, I'm not sure, but at least there are many Dong compatriots living in Chengyang Village where we have been.
There is a famous Yufeng Bridge (named Yongji Bridge) in Chengyang Village, which spans the Linxi River under Ma 'anzhai, with a total length of 64 meters. This is a traditional all-wood structure building. It was once rated as "four famous historical bridges in the world and ten spectacular bridges in the world". According to local tour guides, it is also the oldest wooden bridge in China (built in 1912 and upgraded to a "national security" unit in 1982)
Besides Yufeng Bridge, Chengyang Village also has a striking Drum Tower, an alley full of spices and various fascinating Dong cultural life. Whoever comes here will not be disappointed.
at night, you will find that the wind and rain bridge, which is not obvious during the day, is completely new. The brightly lit traditional wooden bridge is particularly beautiful.
Tips: It is recommended to climb the hillside of the ticket booth by the river and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the whole valley. It takes about 2 minutes to hike up the mountain. It's effortless and the scenery you see is totally worth it.
I had a long table banquet in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan before, and I was deeply impressed by the shocking scene. When I came to Dongzhai, Guangxi this time, I actually met another kind of "Hundred Family Banquet" similar to a long table banquet. The scene is too noisy!
Chengyangzhai villagers gathered in the bonfire square to have an interactive experience of one hundred banquets. Visitors only need 6 yuan to sit down and eat and drink with the locals.

note: how to get to Chengyang bazhai? There are many ways to get to Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County. You can drive or take a bus. You can get there by bus from Liuzhou, Nanning, Guilin and Longsheng. Chengyang Village is about half an hour's drive from Sanjiang County, Guangxi.
If you come from Guilin by train, take the local bus from the front of the railway station to Chengyang Village. Tickets are about 4~5 yuan/person. If it is go on road trip, you can set the navigation destination as "Chengyang Dongbazhai Scenic Area".
